1986 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce BLACK convertibleMake: Alfa Romeo Model: Spider Veloce Color: Black Engine: 4 Cyl Transmission: Manual Drive-train: RWD Miles: 187,000 (non-functional odometer...read below) Removable Top, Power Brakes, Power Windows, Intermittent Wipers, Tachometer, 4 Wheel Disc Brakes, AM/FM/CD, Adjustable Headrests, Bucket Seats, Leather Seats, Center Console This car is clean and runs great! Fresh Tags to 2015. All stock. It does have some minor issues & cosmetic flaws due to the age of the car, naturally. The odometer reads 187,000 miles but doesn't work anymore. The original owner pulled the car behind an RV most of the time so I don't believe it even has that many miles on it. It does not burn oil. It doesn't have any rust. Mechanically it runs great! - small oil leak (about a quart per 6 weeks) --> typical for this car - needs a brake job (have brand new pads...just need to be put on) - E-Brake needs to be adjusted - defrost fan doesn't work - small dent on the passenger side (view photo) - wipers work fine but the intermittent doesn't - needs a new convertible top...current one leaks a little on heavy rain days. On Jan-25-14 at 17:21:55 PST, seller added the following information: REVISION Some rust was discovered in the spare tire wheel well in the trunk. It's about 20-30 inches along the base. I can only assume that some water got in to the well and created the corrosion. It would need to be repaired. |

This modernized Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint looks great, sounds even better
Tue, Feb 9 2016No matter how good something may be, there's always room for improvement. A UK company called Alfaholics builds an overhauled version of the famous Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint that's supposed to be capable enough to hassle a modern Porsche 911 around the Nordschleife. It's difficult to spot any of the upgrades from the outside, but Charles Morgan shows off the updated performance in a new video from Carfection. The Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint is a memorable sports coupe that was made in the '60s and '70s, and it sports a gorgeous body from the pen of a then-17-year-old Giorgetto Giugiaro. Alfaholics takes this fantastic platform and adds modern suspension components, upgraded brakes, carbon fiber body panels, and a 240-horsepower engine. These tweaks bring the weight down to about 1,830 pounds and allow for a lap around the Nordschliefe in less than 8 minutes at the hands of a skilled driver. As opposed to just going for outright performance, Alfaholics tries to keep its tuned Giulia Sprint somewhat authentic to the original version. As Morgan shows in this video, the result of the company's work is a coupe with superb handling and an intoxicating exhaust note. Related Video:
Is Alfa Romeo readying 4C Spider for Detroit reveal?
Wed, Dec 31 2014The 2015 Detroit Auto Show just keeps looking like one of the best automotive events in the Motor City in years, and it seems increasingly likely that we're going to see another sports car reveal there with the production Alfa Romeo 4C Spider. The latest hint towards the unveiling of the Spider comes from FCA's own blog. In a story about the first customer deliveries of the 4C Launch Edition, the last sentences nearly let the cat out of the bag: "Alfa Romeo plans to introduce eight new models by 2018. You'll get your next Alfa fix at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January." Just looking at the roofline of the 4C, it's pretty clear that a convertible was in the cards from the very beginning. Alfa confirmed that with the Spider concept (pictured below) at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, and reaffirmed the drop top in the company's five-year plan. Further evidence for the fast approaching debut came recently when a fully production-spec 4C Spider (pictured above) was spotted being professionally filmed in Spain. It sported some changes over the concept, including a cooling inlet on the driver's side rear fender and exhausts at the corners, instead of the center. Alfa Romeo Stelvio to get a new rear-drive base version
Mon, Jul 2 2018Good news for those who want an Alfa Romeo Stelvio but do not have the need for all-wheel drive: Alfa is reportedly introducing a cheaper, solely rear-drive version. It will still have plenty of power. Car & Driver is reporting that there will be a new, rear-wheel-drive base Stelvio for 2019, one that undercuts the current cheapest Q4 model by $2,000. That would mean a starting price of $41,440. However, the gap will widen slightly as the all-wheel-drive cars will see a price bump for 2019. The base model's only engine option will be the four-cylinder turbo, offering 280 horsepower and 306 lb-ft of torque. The transmission is the eight-speed automatic. C&D also says that the RWD versions will be kitted out more cheaply than AWD models, as a posher Ti version will always come standard with AWD. The new base models are likely to bear Q2 badging to differentiate them from the "quattro per quattro" Q4 models. And, if you're still willng to add a little something to the RWD Stelvio, there will be an available Sport package that offers 19-inch wheels and performance-oriented accessories such as aluminum pedals, painted brake calipers, paddle shifters and more. This does almost negate the price difference between the 2018 and 2019 base models, as it is said to cost $1,800.
