Placentia, California, United States
Relisting for lower price!
I bought my Spider in 1994 from a dentist in Scottsdale, AZ. I have owned it for nearly twenty years and am only the third owner. This Spider was in superb condition when I bought it, and it is in better condition today. It has been carefully driven regularly. It has always been garaged. I lived in the Phoenix area for the first fourteen years of my ownership and in Dallas for the last five years - - NO RUST! Two months ago, I was transferred to the LA area and am forced to sell due to garage space limitations. I have taken exquisite care of it, investing in long term mechanical and aesthetic restorations. I have personally overseen all phases of its care, having it serviced exclusively by handpicked Alfa Romeo specialists. No expenses were spared to maintain it in the condition it was when it left the factory. I never cut corners in the maintenance and restoration and never hesitated to pay top dollar for all parts and services. For twenty years, it has been “my baby.” I have all service receipts since 1994, and the original owner’s manual. This low-miles Spider is an EXTREMELY rare find in this condition, in absolutely top shape (both in appearance and mechanical), an Alfa that has been lovingly cared for, and always returned to my fully-enclosed garage. This car is a true “gem.” Small touches enhance an older, sought-after car to an outstanding classic machine, and this is it. This is an exceptional find, an '84 Alfa that has been METICULOUSLY maintained, cared for, zealously serviced, regularly driven and enjoyed, but protected over the years from the elements. Here are some small touches: Waxed at least quarterly with Zaino Show Car Polish products (whether it needed it or not!). Interior leather cleaned and treated quarterly. The fine engine starts instantly, cold or hot. Shifts smooth as silk. Though not required, premium gas was always used. Engine always allowed to warm up before driving. In 2012/2013, the following mechanical, maintenance, and preventive maintenance services were performed by Alfa Romeo experts. As both the car and I got older, I decided not to wait for things to wear out due to age. Maintenance and preventive maintenance performed 2012/2013: New Water Pump New Fuel Hoses/Clamps (all) New Oil Pan Gasket New Differential Pan Gasket New Driveshaft Flex Coupling New Valve Cover Gaskets New Cam Cover Plug/Washer New Brake Hoses (all) New Radiator Hoses (all) New Engine Coolant Thermostat New Engine Vacuum Hoses/Clamps (all) New Bosch Fuel System Relays (all) New Exhaust System (manifold to tailpipe including new catalytic converter and muffler) New Fuel Filter New Oil Filter New Fuel Pump Mount New Air Conditioning System – old system virtually replaced. Alfa Romeo turns it up to 11 with Harrison guitars and Marshall amps
Fri, Jun 27 2014To American enthusiasts, nothing might say rock n' roll quite like a classic muscle car. But that doesn't preclude the Europeans from trying. Volkswagen has partnered with Fender for its premium audio systems, and now Alfa Romeo is teaming up with some rocking powerhouses as well. The Italian automaker is collaborating with Harrison Custom Guitar Works to create the limited-edition axe you see here. The electric guitar is designed around Alfa's iconic grille and uses automotive materials like aluminum and carbon fiber as well as traditional guitar woods like poplar, maple, ebony and Korina. The cross-bars, pickups, tail piece and bridge are CNC-machined from aluminum billet. Only 11 examples will be made, each taking eight months to construct, and priced at GBP4,000 (about $6,800 at current exchange rates). At the same time Alfa has also created a one-off MiTo concept car together with Marshall Amplification. The hatchback packs a custom Marshall JVM 50-watt amp and a pair of 12-inch 75-watt speakers, but has also been decked out with gold-mesh trim on the grille, head- and taillight surrounds, side mirrors, door handles and lower bumper – just like a Marshall stack – while the interior has been worked over with Marshall treadplates, white piping and gold trim. The shift knob has even been replaced by a Shure SH55 microphone. Though the collaborations look like something straight out of This Is Spinal Tap (with a touch of The Graduate thrown in for good measure), they'll both be showcased at a special screening in London of another rock documentary: Sound City, directed by Foo Fighters frontman (and former Nirvana drummer) Dave Grohl. You can, however, check them out in the pair of image galleries and the press releases below. CRAFTED FOR PERFORMANCE: HARRISON CUSTOM GUITAR WORKS UNVEILS ULTRA-EXCLUSIVE ALFA ROMEO-INSPIRED GUITAR - Harrison Custom Guitar Works create the 'Alfa Romeo' – an ultra-limited edition Alfa Romeo-inspired guitar - The 'Alfa Romeo' integrates traditional craftsmanship with performance materials such as carbon fibre and aluminium - Hand-built to order for GBP4,000 with each guitar taking eight months to create Harrison Custom Guitar Works based in Yorkshire (UK) has created an ultra-exclusive electric guitar inspired by Alfa Romeo's design and heritage. The 'Alfa Romeo', is a completely custom-made design that draws inspiration from the style, materials and technology of the Italian brand's road cars.
Editors' Choice: Top Five 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show Debuts
Thu, Sep 17 2015Consider the 2015-16 auto show season officially kicked off. The Frankfurt Motor Show offered a great look at the newest crop of production cars and conceptual machines, and brought some old favorites back into the spotlight for a closer look. (The Alfa Romeo Giulia, for example, debuted in June, but this was the first time most of us saw it.) Now that the dust has settled and we're all on flights back to the US, our editors cast their votes for their personal favorites from the Frankfurt show. These are the cars we truly loved seeing the most. But unlike other shows, there was no one runaway winner – all of the Top Five received positive praise from our team. We won't spoil the results, though. Scroll down to see what we liked most from this year's Frankfurt expo. 5th Place – MERCEDES-BENZ IAA CONCEPT View 12 Photos MIKE AUSTIN: The clean lines on this concept have me excited for a more elegant beauty to future Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Next to the Concept IAA, the lovely S-Class Coupe looks like an overstyled barge. DAVID GLUCKMAN: Yeah, the extendable rear is neat and all, but I'm more interested in the front-end styling of this one. It looks like the Tron version of a 300SL, in a good way. I'm hopeful it portends the future of Mercedes design. STEVEN EWING: I was super impressed when Mercedes said that, with the rear end extended, this concept has a drag coefficient of just 0.19. That's crazy aerodynamic. I'm not head-over-heels about the styling, but I think the lessons learned from this concept are really important, and will play a huge role in the future of Mercedes' products. 4th Place – ALFA ROMEO GIULIA View 15 Photos SEYTH MIERSMA: I can hardly express how in love with this car I am. The styling feels creative, modern, and evocative, without going over the top. The proposed performance is spectacular. And the Alfa badge speaks to a legacy of romantic motoring. DAVID GLUCKMAN: Pretty Italian car makes big promises and will probably deliver on about three quarters of them. I think that will still be enough for me. JEREMY KORZENIEWSKI: I'm really intrigued by the Giulia. It looks great, sounds awesome, and I'm expecting it to have a load more character than its German rivals. I hope I'm not disappointed. 3rd Place – JAGUAR F-PACE View 15 Photos GREG MIGLIORE: It's the first SUV for Jaguar, and I think they nailed the design, capability, and electronics. It's the right car at the right time.
Alfa sprints toward Geneva with two-door Giulia
Fri, Feb 3 2017Alfa Romeo is poised to add a two-door version of the Giulia to its lineup, according to a report from Motoring out of Australia. The coupe could be called the Giulia Sprint and be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show, the website says. The Sprint name has been used on a variety of sporty Alfas, like the 1965 Giulia Sprint GTA shown above, over the years. The move would broaden Alfa's lineup which currently stands at just the Giulia sedan and the hard-edged 4C sports car in the United States. The 2018 Stelvio SUV joins Alfa's portfolio this year. The company's five-year plan indicates two specialty vehicles will join its lineup in the coming years, though they're unspecified. An Alfa spokesman declined to comment to Autoblog on future product. The Giulia two-door would likely share powertrains with its sedan sibling, which offers a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder making 280 horsepower and a turbo 2.9-liter Ferrari-derived 505-hp V6. The coupe would take aim at the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe, BMW 4 Series, Cadillac ATS coupe, Audi A5, Infiniti Q60, and others. Related Video:
