Up for auction is a gorgeous Red 1967 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce Duetto Convertible.  Fully restored and ready to be enjoyed this summer.

This stunning Italian sports car was made famous in the Dustin Hoffman movie "The Graduate" and has become an American Icon ever since the movie came out in 1967.  This car is the exact car as the one in the movie.  Same spec, same colors and the same throaty growl when you fly through tunnels.

I have loved and enjoyed this car but unfortunately I have to sell it and I am hoping it goes to someone who will appreciate it and love it as much as I did.

I bought this car because it was a solid complete original unmolested Duetto, with plans to restore it to its original glory, and here is what was done to it:

Car was stripped, and taken to a reputable body shop in Philadelphia where dents and flaws were repaired, as was any superficial rust.
They block sanded the entire body, using as little filler as possible,
They primered with PPG 2K primer 4 times with block sanding in between each coat and then sealed and prepped with PPG products.
The shop is Environmentally friendly using Waterborne paint (PPG Envirobase) and the paint is therefore state of the art, applied in an Italian made paint booth.
They sanded and polished the paint to finish.
Cost $12,000 .

The engine was blueprinted, and rebuilt with quality parts, gaskets, seals, and Borgo Pistons and liners.
The crank was cut and polished to .020" over.  Cylinder head was gone over.
The trans was gone through and given a clean bill of health, and a new clutch and bearing was installed.  Shifts like butta.
The drivetrain cost $8,500

The carbs were rebuilt, the exhaust was replace entirely. (Except for the factory headers of course)
Restored wheels and hubcaps, with new Classic tires.
New OEM Robbins Canvas soft top.
New seats made with Naugahyde, and new foam (Pretty and very comfortable).
The bottom was undercoated, the tank boiled, new brake lines, fuel lines pumps hoses etc.
All the electrics work 100% as they should including the rarely working four way flashers with the tear drop side markers. (very exciting )   This cost another $9,000

I wanted the car to be as original as possible to retain its '60s character so anything that did not need to be replace was cleaned up/restored and put back;
for example the Dash is probably the ONLY surviving original dash that does not have a plastic dash cap.

ALL instruments, glass lights switches, wipers heater and blower hazards, are ORIGINAL and working 100%

The car starts right up all the time every time.   It sounds fantastic; and is a absolute joy to drive.  Solid, confident, and gorgeous.
This car is a people magnet.

Jeep and Alfa Romeo join the already exotic Italian police force

Mon, Dec 12 2016

Police departments in Italy are blessed with some of the most iconic cop cars on the planet. Where else will you see a pale blue Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 emblazoned with "Polizia" on the road? FCA decided they couldn't let Lamborghini steal the show and have handed over the first Jeep Renegade and Alfa Romeo Giulietta to the Police Academy in Rome. FCA is also loaning two Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloces that will join the two Giulia Quadrifoglios medical cars that are already in service. The Renegade is an four-wheel drive Italian-spec model with a 2.0-liter, 120 horsepower inline four-cylinder engine that we don't get in the United States. The current Giulietta is a small-hatchback that isn't sold in America. On the other hand, the new Giulia and its 280 horsepower turbocharged inline-four and the Q4 all-wheel drive system goes on sale next month. In polizia guise, it's one of the most formidable and beautiful pursuit vehicles on the road. FCA is no stranger to police cars and supplies Dodge Charger Pursuits to fleets all across the US. We spent some time in one a while back and learned all the pros and cons of driving a black and white cruiser. Alfa Romeo to launch crossover in 2016

Mon, Jan 12 2015

Alfa Romeo has an ambitious product plan in place to revive the marque and bring it back to North America. And according to the latest reports, that includes a new crossover. A dozen years after the reveal of the Kamal concept pictured here, the new, as-yet-unnamed production crossover – referred to internally as Project 949 – will be Alfa's first, arriving hot on the heels of sister-company Maserati's upcoming Levante crossover. The high-riding Alfa will be about the size of the Audi Q5 or BMW X3, and is reportedly being developed on the same rear-drive "Giorgio" platform as the replacement for the discontinued 159 sedan, which is expected to be called Giulia overseas but possibly wear the 6C moniker in North America when it's unveiled on June 24 at the Alfa Romeo museum outside Milan. Both models are expected to be produced at the company's Cassino plant near Rome, and feature a new family of engines including a high-output diesel V6. A larger crossover is set to follow as well. Alfa Romeo Stelvio caught testing under the cloak of darkness

Tue, Oct 11 2016

With Americans still going crazy over compact SUVs and crossovers, the upcoming Alfa Romeo Stelvio is the Italian automaker's latest attempt at regaining its status as a household name in the US. Photographers managed to capture a prototype testing at night with very little camouflage to hide the SUV's overall design. These photos are the clearest ones we've seen of the upcoming SUV. The prototype's front end is extremely similar to the Giulia's with two oval-shaped outlets on the side of the fascia with a v-shaped grille in the center. The headlights, which are surrounded by black tape, also mimic the units found on the Giulia. The ruffles in the camouflage on the hood suggest that the Stelvio gets a pair of vents. The profile of the crossover is much more round than previous prototypes depicted with the overall shape mimicking the Jaguar F-Pace, but much smaller in size. The taillights, surprise, surprise, also resemble the same ones found on the Giulia. There's no way to know what type of engine is powering the Stelvio prototype, but the two tailpipes and skinny tires point toward something much more subdued than the twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 that puts out 505 horsepower in the Giulia Quadrifoglio. We expect the production version of the crossover to get the same gasoline and diesel options as the Giulia, depending on where the vehicle is sold. The Stelvio – and this shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone – looks like a larger, taller Giulia. While the prototype looks ghastly with its camouflage, we expect, and hope, that the SUV will look a lot better at its debut, which could take place at next month's Los Angeles Motor Show.
