2004 Acura Tl - Fully Loaded - W/ Navigation, Body Spoiler Kit, New Transmission on 2040-cars
Crofton, Maryland, United States
This TL has all of the options to include Navigation, premium sound, xenon, trunk mat, all-weather floor mats, and the factory underbody spoiler kit. It has 175K highway miles, but it has been impeccably maintained. No accidents and the engine runs like a car with far fewer miles. It has had the following maintenance/repairs: New transmission (at 170K) w/ warranty, struts/links, brakes, starter, timing belt, water pump, power steering pump, and many more. I have all service records. Engine runs beautifully and burns no oil. Condition: It has dings, dents associated with a car of its age/mileage. There are rips in the front passenger seat and rear seat. It happened because the seats weren't used much; so when they were used, they cracked. Nominal cost to repair at a local shop. Private seller - reason for selling is due to a move (military). If I didn't have to move, I wouldn't sell it. However, this does not mean I am desperate to sell it and therefore, take an unrealistic price. All I want is a fair price for a far better-than-average vehicle. It sells at wholesale auction for a little less than I'm asking, but you don't have the service records, new transmission, etc. -------------- Update: To answer some questions posed: The cost of the transmission was around $3200. The one weak point for the TL is the transmission - so now you don't have to worry. The struts were replaced at around 173K with higher end Monroe. The wheels have some curb rash. The tires have at least half tread. It passed the last emissions and safety inspection. The windshield had a crack from a rock chip and will be replaced prior to pickup. There are no foul smells in the car, it smells like leather. |

NSX Concept-GT is the world's hottest way to boil water
Sat, 05 Oct 2013The Honda NSX Concept-GT is one sexy machine, and it looks to be a very effective tool on a race circuit. But Honda's latest web spot leads us to believe that it also can be used to make tea.
In the video, the racecar is hooked up to an apparatus that uses tubing to harness the energy from the car's 500-horsepower hybrid drive system, using it to boil water. The novel tea-making technique reminds us a bit of a couple other inventive Honda commercials, namely Hands and Cog.
Watch the NSX ad below, and be sure to turn the sound up to hear that glorious engine note.
Watch an Acura NSX prototype lap the track at Mid-Ohio
Sun, 04 Aug 2013As promised, Acura trotted its NSX prototype out to the mass of waiting fans ahead of today's Honda Indy 200 IndyCar race at Mid-Ohio. The hybrid supercar took to the track for a fast lap, and Acura was kind enough to attach a score of cameras to the car in order to share the event with the rest of the world.
The blue-wrapped NSX looks pretty darn good on a race track, if we do say so ourselves, and its V6 engine, coupled with its three electric motors and lithium-ion battery pack, sounds awfully sweet at full song. The automaker is promising to release its new NSX in 2015, which is still quite a ways away, so we don't expect this exhibition lap to be the last time we see a prototype in action ahead of a production debut.
Want to see the video? Of course you do. Scroll down to see the NSX take to the track like a fish takes to water.
2014 Acura RLX gets trick hybrid all-wheel drive system for LA
Tue, 19 Nov 2013Acura has endured a year of mixed reviews and middling sales for its new RLX flagship. Meanwhile, the Japanese automaker has been readying what may be the very best version of the car for its debut. Now the wait is almost over, as Acura will show its 2014 RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD at this year's LA Auto Show.
When it comes to dealerships in the spring of 2014, the RLX Hybrid will be the most powerful production car Acura has ever sold. The combination of a 3.5-liter V6 and three electric motors - a 35-kilowatt motor pushing torque to the front wheels and two 27-kW units feeding the rears - creates a total system output of 377 horsepower.
Those rear-end electric motors do more than just add power, they also drive the rear wheels without a traditional rear drive shaft and differential. This newest iteration of the Super Handling-All Wheel Drive calls upon the two rear motors to both drive and brake the rear wheels, vectoring torque in cornering situations for additional grip. All three electric motors make use of regenerative braking to feed electricity back into the system's 260-volt lithium-ion battery pack.
