Acura rejoins with Seinfeld, sponsors Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee [w/videos]
Wed, 05 Jun 2013We enjoyed the opening season of Seinfeld's offbeat Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee web series, a video serial where Jerry Seinfeld picked up his friends in some of his classic cars and... chatted. It was a simple premise that offered some genuinely enjoyable moments, even if the 'cars' connection was often a bit incidental. In any case, Acura must have felt the same way, as it has just inked a deal to be the sole sponsor for the series' next season.
Acura, you may recall, already enjoys a relationship with the comedian - Seinfeld starred in the company's 2012 Super Bowl ad alongside the NSX supercar concept. So perhaps it's no surprise that it has signed on to sponsor 24 episodes of the series, due to roll out this year and next. Naturally, with any title sponsorship these days, you can expect to see some integration of the sponsor - in this case, Acura says such measures will involve its new 2014 MDX crossover, integrating "short, contextually relevant ads at the beginning and end of the episode."

Honda debuts NSX Concept-GT hybrid racer
Fri, 16 Aug 2013Not to be outdone by Lexus and its new LF-CC racecar, Honda is also bringing a little more excitement to the Japanese Super GT racing series with its NSX Concept-GT. Yes, just like the original NSX, this racecar will wear the Honda badge in its home market when it replaces the current offering in that series, the non-production HSV-010 GT, which itself replaced the NSX in the series back in 2010.
Looking exactly how we'd imagine a race-prepped 2015 Acura NSX to look, this racer is mean and sexy at the same time, and it will be powered by a racing hybrid system with a turbocharged four-cylinder mounted behind the driver. No word on power output, but it will compete in the GT500 class, which restricts power output to 500 horsepower. Unlike the Lexus racecar, the Honda NSX Concept-GT will being competing this season starting with this weekend's race at the Suzuka Circuit before running the full 10-race 2014 season. Fri, Aug 18 2017Our Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is in California for Monterey Car Week and the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, rubbing elbows with beautiful people and their far-more-beautiful cars. Greg took a 2017 Acura NSX down the Monterey Peninsula to grab lunch yesterday and posted live video on Facebook. We thought we'd share it here. We've driven the modern NSX before, of course, and it's terrific. For greater detail, check out our review from 2015. The video is in two parts, as Greg lost service at one point. Ah, technology. We'll be ordering lunch ourselves soon. Wish we could order California sunshine and an NSX to go.
