Up for sale is my 2006 Acura RSX Type-S with 70,XXX miles. It is still my daily driver so mileage subject to slight change. I am sad to let it go but I need to get an SUV. I have had this car since it was brand new and I am the only owner. I have taken only the best care of my car throughout its whole life and it is in absolutely great condition. The car is very fast, all modifications made to the car are only using the highest quality parts on the market and installed by extremely reputable shops. I will pass along the contact information of the shop that has currently been tuning and servicing the car to ensure that you will have someone that knows what they are doing, and is familiar with this exact vehicle.

Further Details:

Engine:

The engine in the car is the K20A 2.0 liter inline 4 cylinder. This is the version of the motor that comes in the Type-S model and it is extremely reliable and has a lot of potential. I have added a full Greddy turbo/intercooler system. On top of this the car has a Hondata K-Pro Standalone engine control unit. The install and tuning was done by House of Boost of Lenexa, KS. I frequently get the car out to the dyno to have small changes made to the tune and make sure the engine is running strong and healthy. Currently the car makes about 270 horsepower to the wheels in high boost, and 245 whp in low boost. The boost settings can all be easily changed within the car at the press of a button on the GReddy Profec B-Spec 2 Boost Controller. The car was making 330 to the wheels however I had it tuned down for better fuel economy and safety of the motor. However if you upgraded some of the internal components in the motor, the car could easily make 400+ horsepower. Other modifications include the Apexi GT Spec Exhaust. The exhaust has a very deep and great sound, while not being overwhelmingly loud at the same time. The car has a Greddy blow off valve which sounds really great too. I also have a hi-flow catalytic converter installed to improve airflow while still easily passing emissions tests. Because the car is front wheel drive I have also had performance motor mounts installed to reduce vibrations from the motor and this mod has completely eliminated any wheel hop, which is extremely important in FWD cars. This car is the real deal. It is extremely powerful, very lightweight, and a blast to drive. It has amazing acceleration and handling which makes it the type of car that makes you want to take the long way home while at the same time being a very suitable daily driver. The car still gets great gas mileage.

Exterior:

The exterior of the car is in extremely great condition as well. I have been very meticulous about the outside of the car and would re-paint the bumpers/side skirts every time they got any scratches or chips. There is not a single scratch on any of the bumpers and the front lip is immaculate (see picture below). I know how to drive a car that is low to the ground and there are NO scratches from bottoming out or anything (see picture of front bumper lip below). The paint is in great condition all around and has a great deep gloss shine to it. The car has a full body kit as well as a carbon fiber spoiler, which I have had painted black. I also have a set of hyper black aftermarket 17 inch wheels on the car.

Interior:

The interior of the car is in great condition. I have always kept it very clean and used leather specific cleaners for the black leather interior. All of the seats have minimal wear and are in great condition along with the rest of the interior. I have a 3 gauge pod on the driver side pillar which includes a boost gauge, oil pressure gauge, and an Air/Fuel ratio gauge. All of the gauges can be switched between 7 colors. The Greddy Boost controller is mounted conveniently in the center console of the car for easy access to change boost levels while driving. I also have a touch screen Pioneer head unit in the car which has CD player, USB port, and an AUX cord port. The picture shows a 12" sub in the trunk which will not be coming with the car. The Bose sound system in the car sounds great and none of the speakers rattle or anything of the sort and are in perfect condition.

Honda spinning off Acura as stand-alone division in bid to wake up brand

Tue, 11 Mar 2014

Every major automaker has a different way of relating between its various divisions and brands. At Volkswagen, for example, the individual brands seem to operate with a large degree of autonomy. Under the Renault-Nissan Alliance, the two units share a common chief executive, but little else. The relationship between Honda and its luxury division Acura has always been rather close, but that's all about to change.
American Honda Motor Company has always handled sales and marketing in the North American market for both the Honda and Acura divisions, but new reorganization plans call for the two units to be separated under their own direction. Leading the Acura division will be Michael Accavitti, who moves into the position from his role as Senior Vice President for Auto Operations at American Honda. The Honda division will meanwhile be taken over by the current head of Acura sales, Jeff Conrad.
Both will report to John Mendel, the current executive vice president of the Automobile Sales Division that is being rebranded as the American Honda Auto Division. Unlike rivals Lexus and Infiniti - two brands that Acura beat to the market - Honda barely markets its luxury brand outside of North America. Its overseas presence is felt only in China, though we've yet to receive word on how the reorganization might effect that market - or for that matter, any potential of expanding into others.

Honda updates Takata airbag recall status for some models

Fri, 07 Nov 2014

The net enveloping vehicles in the Takata airbag inflator recall just seems to keep widening. Honda is now updating its previous campaign to revise the status for even more models that were ever registered in (or originally sold in) 13 high-humidity US states and territories.
All of these vehicles were included in the company's earlier repairs. However, at the time this fix was titled "a safety improvement campaign." This latest action upgrades that condition to "a formal recall," according to Honda's official statement. The models include: the 2003-2005 Honda Accord, 2001-2005 Civic (pictured above), 2002-2005 CR-V, 2003-2004 Element, 2002-2004 Odyssey, 2003-2005 Pilot, 2006 Ridgeline, 2003-2005 Acura MDX and the 2005 Acura RL. All of these need to have their passenger-side, front airbag inflator replaced, and the recall affects Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, Saipan, Guam and American Samoa.
As with the rest of these affected vehicles, it's possible in a collision for the inflator to rupture spraying metal shrapnel at occupants. There are at least 139 injuries attributed to this problem from a variety of automakers so far. Among this latest population of vehicles, Honda says there have been no confirmed injuries or fatalities related to these exploding inflators.

2016 Acura ILX First Drive [w/video]

Tue, Feb 10 2015

Luxury carmakers love getting 'em when they're young. Sure, it takes older, well-heeled buyers to move high-margin flagships like S-Classes, 7 Series, and LSes, but to borrow from the late, great Ms. Houston, the children are the future – specifically, the ones buying entry-level sleds like the Audi A3 and Mercedes-Benz CLA. Since youthful buyers tend to cultivate lifelong patterns of loyalty (and thus, spending), Acura has invested effort in shoving its entry-level ILX into more upmarket territory. "The ILX was originally conceived during the recession," one Acura executive admitted during the launch of the facelifted 2016 model, conceding that the original compact sedan's priorities were biased towards economy, not plushness. Because Acura originally didn't see the $30,000-ish competitors from Audi and Mercedes coming, they didn't think twice about equipping the base, prior-gen ILX with rather uninspired styling and a meager 150-horsepower engine, the combination of which made it more of a glorified Honda Civic than a contender for European power players. What's an aspiring Japanese automaker to do in 2015's golden age of affordable luxury? If you're Acura, you scramble to release a mid-cycle upgrade to elevate the ILX's status. Upmarket Moves: Fresher Skin And A Friskier Soul With its ho-hum sheet metal, the outgoing ILX simply couldn't stand up to its more crisply styled competitors. The 2016 model comes to the rescue by adding Acura's signature "Jewel Eye" row of LED headlights, which joins a reworked grille and fascia to form a more aggressive front end that's been moved lower and wider. A redesigned rear deck incorporates new LED taillamps, while the ILX's proportions now boast a more hunkered-down stance. The look is sexier (especially thanks to those glimmering headlights), though the stodgy, Buick-like character line and rear haunches remain. Inside, a new multimedia and navigation system brings a level of modernity to the cabin, with an eight-inch upper display and seven-inch lower touchscreen gracing Premium and Tech Plus models. A multi-view rear camera is standard on all ILXs, and the Premium gets a seven-speaker sound system while the Tech Plus receives a 10-speaker ELS premium audio setup. Acura's new Navi link feature enables iPhones to display navigation functionality on the car's screen using a $99 cable kit and a $60 app, offering an affordable way to know where you're going. The kit was not available on the models we drove.
