Very clean 2002 Pearl White Acura RSX Type-S 6-Speed Manual. Has 188,000 miles on it. I have owned the car for 5 years and it has been taken great care of. My dad is a certified Honda and Acura mechanic so it has been extremely well maintained and given regular oil changes every 3,000 miles. It drives great, runs like new and needs absolutely nothing! The exterior of the car is in very good shape for being a 2002 with original paint. The interior of the car is also in very good shape for a 2002. The back seats are in perfect condition, the carpet and upholstery is in awesome shape, the passenger seat is slightly worn, the drivers seat has a small tear due to being worn, and the top of the steering wheel is worn. I've tried to find an OEM drivers seat and steering wheel but mine is in just as good or better shape than anything I've been able to find. This car has tons of extras which are listed below: Extras: -18" Enkei EDR9 wheels w/ Bridgestone Potenza tires -Stock Alloy Wheels w/ Goodyear Eagle LS tires -Injen Cold Air Intake -Retrofitted headlights w/ Lexus RX330 projectors, HID's, and blue angel eyes -B&M Short Shifter -Pioneer AppRadio 2 -Amp and 2 x 12" Kicker Comps w/ ported box -Club RSX headers -Invidia Exhaust system -Energy Suspension engine mount inserts -Winter mats -Spring RSX Type-S mats -Stock Exhaust -HID Foglights which are new in box -I also have the RSX and Type-S emblems I just don't have them on the car NO RESERVE!!!!! Acura TLX GT racecar to make motorsports debut at Detroit Grand Prix
Mon, 31 Mar 2014Acura debuted its TLX GT racecar at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show earlier this year, and it looks like the racer is set to get its first competitive outing in Motown as well. The RealTime Racing team is competing with a single car driven by Peter Cunningham for the Pirelli World Challenge rounds during the Detroit Grand Prix from May 30 through June 1.
Honda Performance Development is developing the TLX GT with a direct-injected, twin-turbocharged V6 engine, based on the production, naturally aspirated version, and all-wheel drive helps maintain traction. A second car is being added to the effort later.
The turbocharged Acura sedan will face competition in the series from vehicles like the Audi R8 LMS, Cadillac CTS-V, Dodge Viper, Nissan GT-R, Porsche 911 and more. With the Detroit Grand Prix hosting the sixth and seventh races in the Pirelli World Challenge GT class schedule, it doesn't seem that Acura is expecting to win the series in its debut season, but it will surely gain valuable experience.
Honda to compete in seven Pike's Peak classes in 2014
Mon, 28 Apr 2014The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is one of the greatest events on the international motorsports calendar. Its Unlimited class harkens back to the old days of racing, when teams built vehicles to be the fastest with whatever they had. Honda is returning to the event for 2014 for its second year as a sponsor and participant, and it's bringing some cool machines of its own.
The company is fielding seven entrants this year, which is somewhat smaller than last year. In 2013, it brought 11 factory-supported vehicles in 10 classes, including an insane Honda Odyssey with a 532-horsepower turbocharged V6 engine. There's no need to be too disappointed by the shorter list, though. Former 24 Hours of Le Mans-winner Romain Dumas is back piloting a Honda-powered Norma chassis up the hill in the Unlimited class. Dumas attempted to race the car last year, but it broke down during his run. Other competitors include an NSX (pictured above), Fit B-Spec and an S3700, which is an S2000 with a 3.7-liter V6 engine.
In its role as sponsor, Honda says it has also worked with the sanctioning body to add an AirFence safety barrier along some corners for the motorcycle and ATV riders. This year's Pikes Peak is being held on Sunday, June 29. Scroll down to read the full details about Honda's team and start getting excited for this year's running.
Honda exec says US market near capacity, could hurt subprime buyers
Thu, 21 Aug 2014Is there a point in the US auto industry where companies should start considering the welfare of their customers ahead of selling more cars? American Honda Executive Vice President of Sales John Mendel thinks that level exists, and we may be getting very close to it.
According to Automotive News, Mendel believes that finding more customers in the market could require pursuing subprime buyers and offering longer-term loans. However, he refuses to use those tactics. While selling models this way can improve things briefly, the strategies hurt resale prices and lower vehicle profits over time. The company won't do "stupid things in the short-term that damage the person who bought yesterday," he said to Automotive News. "It's a very, very short-term tactic especially in the subprime area."
American Honda, which combines the Acura and Honda brands, has seen market share decline from 9.7 percent to 9.1 percent through July 2014, according to Automotive News, and Autoblog's By the Numbers stats showed it posted falling sales in five of the seven months with data this year. Though, Mendel claims that was partially because the company focused on retail sales over fleets. The delays of the launches for the Honda Fit and Acura TLX likely didn't help either.
