2002 Acura Nsx on 2040-cars
Van Nuys, California, United States
Feel free to email: shereesllockley@veryold.net . A 2002 Acura NSX with Targa top and Long Beach Blue Pearl and automatic transmission. Acura records show 862
NSX's sold from 2002 to 2005. 87 sold in Long Beach Blue Pearl with only 10 with an automatic transmission. 1 with
black interior, 4 in blue and only 3 with a tan interior. The automatic's came with a paddle shiftier if you
wanted to race. (see pictures). Always garaged. I added Lambo doors just for the looks. They just bolted into the
existing door holes. The original hinges are in the trunk and can be put back on at any time. The radio did not
work when I bought the car so I upgraded the radio. The new radio has radio, CD, Ipod, Phone, maps, and back up
camera. I realize the console piece was trimmed to fit the radio. A new console piece is around $150 if someone
wanted to put it back to all original. The 6 CD changer is still in the trunk and all the wiring is intact. I did
add a battery hook up in the front. (see picture) You could not hook up a trickle charger to the battery with the
spare tire in therefore the easy hook up. The vehicle is equipped with Viper anti-theft device.

10 automakers sued over keyless ignitions
Thu, Aug 27 2015Keyless ignition has rapidly proliferated throughout the auto industry to become a fairly normal feature on new cars. It's supposed to offer the convenience of keeping the fob in your pocket and just pressing a button to drive away. However, ten major automakers are now being sued in US District Court over claims that the system is dangerous, Reuters reports. The suit alleges that people are forgetting to shut off the engine, and the lack of an idle timer is the cause for 13 deaths by carbon monoxide poisoning and multiple injuries. The suit currently includes 28 plaintiffs, according to Reuters, but the lawyers are asking for class-action status to potentially add many more. The case goes after a major swath of the industry, including BMW, Daimler, FCA, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Nissan, Toyota, and Volkswagen, plus their related brands like Acura, Infiniti, Mini, and Lexus. In all, over five million vehicles are affected. The assertion here is that people walk away from their vehicle without shutting it off because they believe the engine shuts off automatically. If parked in a garage, carbon monoxide can build up, leading to poisoning. The lawyers claim automakers know this is a problem and also cite 27 complaints to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration about the issue, according to Reuters. The plaintiffs are asking for an automatic shut-off and damages from the companies. These concerns have come up before, though. Toyota previously faced a lawsuit over a carbon monoxide death after a woman accidentally left her Lexus running. Also earlier this year, GM recalled 64,186 examples of the 2011-2013 Chevrolet Volt because owners weren't shutting them off. The problem resulted in two injuries, and the company released a software update to limit the idling time.
2014 Acura MDX [w/video]
Fri, 31 May 2013Refinement Rather Than Revolution
Before we get into the meat and potatoes of the 2014 Acura MDX, let's pause for just a moment and talk about the current, still-sitting-at-dealerships 2013 model. It's a pretty good machine. Perhaps guilty only of falling to the backburners of our minds in recent years because, well, the old girl's not gotten any younger. But every time we drove this second-generation MDX, our thoughts were the same - good to drive, pleasant to sit in and a pretty decent value.
Acura's customers felt the same way, and so when it came time to design and engineer the third-generation MDX, the vehicle's formula wasn't shaken up at all. Despite the fact that it uses a brand-new platform and offers a host of upgrades, the key points addressed by the company's engineers were the specific requests of customers and shoppers in the segment - changes that amounted to nothing radical. After all, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
