One of the finest NSX's anywhere, adult owned and meticulously pampered!

I am the 3rd owner of this gorgeous 1998 Black on Black, Adult owned, never tracked, meticulously maintained NSX-T.  I have only owned it for about one year.  I am selling because health issues make it difficult for me to enjoy the car, and it certainly shouldn't be sitting under cover in my temperature controlled garage.  The car was purchased and spent its entire life except for the last year in Plano, Texas.  It was serviced there at the same dealer its entire life by one tech (Carl).  Tons of maintenance receipts, parts receipts, and other documentation explain just how well this car is taken car of.  It is a rare automatic, which is extremely strong and extremely enjoyable to drive.  It has lots of power, and fun to use the "power shifter" on the steering column or the on the floor.  New factory OE door grips and handles were and knee boltsers were installed last year at a cost of $1500.  It looks and feels brand new to me inside. The car is beautiful cosmetically and mechanically.  There ARE NO ISSUES.  It runs great, sounds great, shifts smooth with authority.

All of the expensive stuff has been done and the receipts are available.  Belts, water pump, timing belt, AC service, CV boot, Valve adjustment and cam plugs, transmission service and more.  The previous owner of eight years pampered this NSX and so have I in the time I've owned it.  I just had it professionally detailed and it looks new.  Oil changes using Mobil one have been done every 3000 miles.  The previous own had installed new Bridgestones on the rear, the fronts didn't need them.  A second set of 4 Bridgestones with the original factory wheels are included in the sale.

The typical NSX issues were taken care of.  The factory new climate control and main fuse were attended to.  I have had no mechanical issues with it in the short time that I have owned it.  The plugs were changed one year ago.  Buy the car and enjoy it, because it has no issues.  The car is a show stopper, and gets unbelievable attention whenever I drive it.  If you don't like being asked questions (especially what is it and what year is it?)  about your car when you drive it, don't buy this one.   I have all of the original stock parts for the car plus including the original wheels and set of tires, a nose bra, mirror bra, a satin car cover.  The modifications that have been made on the car are only cosmetic and are reversible if you are a purist.  All of the original parts are included in the sale.  Struts, side skirts, wheeels, intake, muffler, etc.

The cosmetic mods include the following:

Wings West Side Skirts and Spats,
JIC Coil Overs adjustable from the top, with fully adjustable height and ride. Rides better than stock
I-Forged 2 piece wheels, black center, polished lip, 17's on front, 18's on rear
Comptech aluminum engine brace
Machined aluminum trim rings around gauges, and extra trim pieces uninstalled
Ark quad tip exhaust and Downforce Air Intake (adds about 10-15 hp)
2 Sets of floor mats, New NSX "R" style red trim
Seats reupolstered with new perforation black leather from Leatherseats, com (original seat covers available)
I-pod and I-pod adapter with USB adapter from Grom. CD changer
Nose/bumper repainted by Acura dealer.  Looks great!

That's basically the story of my NSX.  The car is excellent mechanically and cosmetically.  It looks almost new. If you look hard enough you'll probably find a couple minor flaws, but the car is 15 years old, and I don't think you'll find another one that has been pampered and serviced like this one. If you have any questions please contact me through eBay. If you or a representative would like to inspect the vehicle, please contact me to make arrangements.  If you're serious about the car and you need additional information you can reach me by phone at (304) 491-2020.  If I'm with a patient or otherwise unable to take your call, leave your number and I will return your call as soon as possible.  Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.

Daily Driver: 2015 Acura TLX

Sat, Jul 4 2015

Daily Driver videos are micro-reviews of vehicles in the Autoblog press fleet, reviewed by the staffers who drive them every day. Today's Daily Driver features the 2015 Acura TLX, reviewed by Seyth Miersma. You can watch the video above or read a transcript below. Watch more Autoblog videos at /videos. Show full video transcript text Hey all, this is Seyth with Autoblog and I'm here in the 2015 Acura TLX. Right off the bat I can tell that the TLX doesn't feel anything like as sporting a sedan as the TL it replaced, at least not in the versions that I last drove, which admittedly were TL's with V6 power and the SH all wheel drive. This TLX has got a 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine, it's making 206 horsepower, and 182 pound-feet of torque, and it is connected up to a eight-speed, dual-clutch transmission. As you can tell by the power output this isn't an impressively fast car. It weighs about 3,500 pounds so it's lugging around some weight. At the same time the eight-speed transmission is really responsive especially as you go through the selectable gear programs, you can make the throttle response pretty good. It is a throttle by wire as well and I haven't noticed any weirdness there, it feels very linear, and like I said, when I turned the system into the sport plus mode the gas pedal becomes really responsive. The exhaust note is muted, you really have to get up over 5,000 rpm before you start feeling like the engine is really pushing you. One of the things that struck me first about this Acura when I got in it was how quiet it was at speed. I feel like in the luxury segment, Acuras have historically done a little bit better for being sportier versions of cars in their segment and not necessarily more refined, but that seems to have been changing a lot on the last few generations of Acura. What it lacks in athletic ability it makes up for in composure. I'm on a pretty good right now, there are plenty of bad ones around where I live so this suspension soaks up a lot of the impacts and it dampens the sound of them as well too. Acura is clearly going after a much more mainstream customer these days and I think a car like this could be very attractive, more attractive than ever for a shopper of something like a Lexus ES. One feature I did play around with was Acura's active lane keep assist which works actually by moving the steering wheel to a degree to keep you centered in your lane if your hands are off the wheel.

Reliving the Acura NSX debut, 25 years later

Sat, 03 May 2014

The Acura NSX might be one of the most important Japanese cars ever created. The Land of the Rising Sun had already established that it could make very competent performance vehicles when the NSX debuted in 1989, but Honda's two-seater was the first one that looked to the world like a true contender against Ferrari and Porsche, thanks to its cutting-edge technology. The Acura had an all-aluminum monocoque chassis, a beautifully low-slung body and a quick-revving V6 with an 8,000-rpm redline. This quintessential Japanese sports coupe celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, and Autoweek recognizes it in a fantastic piece chronicling the model's US launch.
The story begins in February 1989 at the Chicago Motor Show where the car debuted. The day before the show opened, the concept still didn't have a name. The Japanese development team referred to it as New Sports, and the American Acura executives decided to add eXperimental to the end. The moniker NSX just stuck afterwards.
The article paints a fantastic portrait of the car and the company at the time. Honda had something to prove with the NSX. To succeed, the coupe had to be the best, and when the American press finally got a hold of it, they drowned it in accolades. Of course, Acura has a new American-built NSX on the way, and it has colossal legacy to live up to. This piece is definitely worth reading to understand why.

Acura Precision EV Concept reveal predicts the future at Monterey Car Week

Thu, Aug 18 2022

Monterey Car Week is getting into full swing, and Acura showed up with its new Precision EV Concept. Acura makes it fairly clear that this concept isn’t a preview for any particular future electric SUV, but instead is showing it as an example of what the companyÂ’s design themes will be for all upcoming EVs. The exterior is striking from the first glance as it wears a new-for-Acura Double Apex Blue shade of paint with a matte finish. AcuraÂ’s designers say the car's shape was inspired by luxury Italian power boats. As is the case with many new EVs and EV concepts, the exterior lighting is as integral to the design as anything. The Pentagon grille weÂ’re accustomed to seeing on Acuras is replaced with a light-up fascia that mimics the look and shape of AcuraÂ’s regular passthrough grille. YouÂ’ll also notice the patchy lighting in the corners of the front and rear bumpers, and Acura is calling this “Particle Glitch” lighting that is meant to look like the spokes on the 23-inch wheels. Both the headlight and taillight designs look like an evolution of AcuraÂ’s “chicane” light signature seen on current production cars. While Acura says this SUV isnÂ’t a concept for a specific car, it sure looks like it could serve as a preview to the brandÂ’s first electric SUV based off the Honda Prologue. Acura has previously said that its version of the Prologue would come in 2024, and it mentions that the design language you see here would first be witnessed in that SUV. Things look and feel a little less real when you step inside the Precision EV Concept. Acura says it was inspired by a Formula 1 cockpit and features lots of recycled/sustainable materials. You sit low down. And a yoke steering device replaces a traditional steering wheel — we genuinely hope this stays in the concept and never makes it to production. Two drive modes, a manual driving mode and an autonomous driving mode, change up the cabin. The “Instinctive” drive mode leaves the yoke in place, allowing you to drive and control the car. It brings up racing style instrumentation and makes all the in-cabin lighting red. Meanwhile, “Spiritual Lounge” mode transforms the Precision EV Concept into an autonomous vehicle, retracting the steering yoke and projecting underwater animations on the various screens. Speaking of those screens, Acura calls this a preview of a new infotainment system. ItÂ’s a super-wide, curved screen, and itÂ’s a touchscreen.
