Honda demonstrates new Vehicle-to-Pedestrian safety tech [w/video]
Fri, 30 Aug 2013We're fresh from a balmy rooftop deck in downtown Detroit, where Honda held a meeting this week to discuss and demonstrate a few upcoming advanced safety features. A clear focus of the mini event was the company's new Vehicle-to-Pedestrian (V2P) technology, with a suite of Vehicle-to-Motorcycle (V2M) tech a significant second course.
With spirits still high from announcing the 2014 Odyssey as the first minivan to win the Top Safety Pick+ status from IIHS - and after seeing the application of new high-strength-steel sections of the Acura MDX body structure - Honda shared the fruits of some safety tech that is still in the research phase.

Fri, Aug 18 2017Our Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is in California for Monterey Car Week and the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, rubbing elbows with beautiful people and their far-more-beautiful cars. Greg took a 2017 Acura NSX down the Monterey Peninsula to grab lunch yesterday and posted live video on Facebook. We thought we'd share it here. We've driven the modern NSX before, of course, and it's terrific. For greater detail, check out our review from 2015. The video is in two parts, as Greg lost service at one point. Ah, technology. We'll be ordering lunch ourselves soon. Wish we could order California sunshine and an NSX to go. eBay Find of the Day: S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Acura MDX from The Avengers
Wed, 27 Nov 2013Planning to dress up as Agent Coulson for Halloween next year? We've got the perfect accessory to complete your Level 7 costume. On eBay Motors at this very moment is an auction for an Acura MDX S.H.I.E.L.D vehicle, one of only 10 made that the seller claims was used in filming of The Avengers.
The crossover is being sold by Scottsdale Motor Company, and while the eBay auction is up to nearly $19,000 with less than four days remaining (at the time of this writing), the dealer's website is asking $42,900 for this piece of movie memorabilia.
What you see is no mere prop, though. This S.H.I.E.L.D. vehicle is a proper 2011 MDX, equipped with the available Technology Package and leather from the factory. The flat black paint was even applied by Acura itself, and the graphics were added by the film studio's art department.
