WATER LEVEL WAS UP TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEAT CUSHIONS!!!
We bought this car at an auction, with the intent of exporting it. After doing so, the customer realized that he no longer has his connection at the customs, and therefore, the customs duties will cost more than the SUV. So now, it became my duty to take care of this car, until something clears up. Here is what has been done to the car, since purchased:
Seats and carpets removed, the interior was drained of any water and allowed to air dry for a few weeks. The carpet was washed out and also air dried. The seats did not get any work on them. After this was done, the carpet and seats were put back in. Now my customers decided to sell it.

Structurally, the car is in tip-top shape. There are a few scuffs here and there, but nothing major. There is damage to the wiring connections on the right side of the cabin floor. There are a few pins that are corroded, and some wires that came out of the connections. This is all easily repaired, if you know electronics. The only module that I know is bad is the AIRBAG (SRS) module.

THIS CAR HAS NEVER BEEN STARTED BY US, but it did turn over a few times. As you can see in pictures, the dash and climate control/stereo work great, however, it seems that the starter does not get enough ground, to crank. When I try starting it, the starter does this click noise, as if though the battery is dead, even though its fully charged. It seems to me that this car can be repaired in a few hours, literally, however, I gave up on it. I am not a flood repair expert, and don't have the experience, knowledge or the tools to do any more to it.

Acura launches NSX colorizer on Facebook

Mon, 16 Sep 2013

Automakers typically wait until their new car is actually released to roll out an online configurator interface, but Acura isn't waiting around. Instead it has launched a configurator for the upcoming NSX that's still in the concept phase.
Well, sorta. The online tool launched on Facebook in question isn't a full configurator in that it doesn't let you swap the wheels, install any options or even look into the cabin, let alone customize it. What it does let you do is view the NSX concept from one of three angles and select a color from either an array of presets or from anywhere in the RGB spectrum. We settled on the deep metallic green hue above - what color would you choose?

Acura recalling 43k MDX and RLX models over seatbelt issue

Tue, 14 Oct 2014

If you've ever lived in a wintery climate, you may have noticed something strange: no, not the perilously enticing sparkle of cold metal in the sunlight or the way your warm breath suddenly becomes visible in the frigid air, but the way your seatbelt seems increasingly reluctant to retract as the temperature drops. Acura, however, has found the problem more serious than a minor inconvenience, and is recalling some 43,000 vehicles across the United States to address the issue.
The recall in question affects about 7,000 RLX sedans (from the 2014 model year) and another 36,000 MDX crossovers (covering the 2014 and 2015 model years) to have their front seatbelts replaced. In the affected vehicles and in very low temperatures, Acura has found that "the driver's and front passenger's seatbelts may not release from the retracted position." Needless to say, seatbelts that can't be used don't offer any protection in the event of an accident, so the Japanese automaker is notifying owners and dealers to hook up to have those seatbelts replaced.

Honda delays JDM Legend over quality concerns

Tue, Dec 30 2014

Honda has been having some quality issues lately, to say the least. Most of those have revolved around the airbags supplied by Takata, but not exclusively. The new Fit Hybrid, for example, has been subject to five consecutive recalls in the year since it launched. And now the Japanese automaker is reportedly delaying the launch of its new Legend sedan. The Legend, for those unfamiliar, is what Honda calls the Acura RLX in the Japanese Domestic Market – a model that has been subject to a handful of recalls in the United States, affecting components ranging from headlights to seatbelts to suspension bolts. Such quality control issues have prompted Honda to delay the introduction of its flagship sedan in its home market, pushing its arrival in Japanese showrooms back from the fall (when the model was revealed) initially to January 22 and now to February 20, according to the report from Bloomberg. The extra time is earmarked the give Honda engineers the opportunity to look into potential problems with the vehicle's radar safety system and its advanced hybrid powertrain, before introducing it to the local market. Hopefully further recalls can be avoided once deliveries have commenced.
