1995 Acura Legend on 2040-cars
San Clemente, California, United States
More details at: amadaawwoelfle@ukcharity.com .
This is a rare opportunity to own a like-new example of Acura’s top of the line luxury sport sedan in Garnet Red
Pearl which is 100% original. I am the second owner and like the first owner, I have meticulously maintained this
car to keep it showroom quality. It still smells like new. The interior has been kept protected by all things
ranging from a dash mat, rubber floor mats, and $325 custom made front seat covers by Wet Okole. I drive it so
infrequently, the car is practically sterile. (weekends only).
I should note that any paint flaw you think you see in the picture is more than likely a reflection from the
polish. I could rant and rave about how this car looks like it just emerged from a time capsule but only seeing it
in person does it any justice.
For those of you who have never had the pleasure of driving a Legend before, the engineers at Acura knew exactly
what they were doing when they crafted the powerful 3.2L V6 engine. The Legend is wonderful to drive! Under
acceleration the characteristic growl of the Acura V-6 is amazing. At cruise the car is smooth and quiet.
In terms of its mechanical reliability, this car gets an A+. Although the usual timing belt/water pump change
interval is usually 80k miles. I have already gone ahead and had those components replaced as a preventative
measure. Because as you may know, rubber can still crack over time regardless of use. Oil and filter are new and I
make sure to keep it that way. It also has like new Michelin MXV4 tires which make the car ride extremely smooth
and quiet. Air conditioning blows ice cold, like it should. If you're a connoisseur of the Acura Legend, your
search may be over.
While I'm not in any particular hurry to part with this machine, I've come to the conclusion that I have too many
vehicles already and this beauty doesn't do me any good being the "eye candy" that I drive on weekends, so while
I'm reluctantly posting it for sale, I am ready to find it a new home.
I know it's a tired old saying, but whoever ends up buying this car is getting one hell of an automobile.
Now you have the chance to own an incredible piece of classic Japanese luxury.
NOTE: Vehicle is also subject to local sale.

A look inside Honda’s “Safety For Everyone” research and development operation
Sat, Aug 24 2019RAYMOND, Ohio—As part of its long-running “Safety for Everyone” campaign, Honda has established the audacious goal of what it calls a “zero-collision society.” But rather than making big claims about developing a fully-autonomous vehicle, which Honda hasnÂ’t done, the company is trying to chip away at the more than 37,000 vehicle-related fatalities that occurred in the U.S. in 2017 with a multi-pronged approach. Here in central Ohio, engineers are working with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment to boost active safety systems like its HondaSensing suite of safety technology with old fashioned passive systems like structural steel frames or new airbag designs that protect passengers in a crash. Honda provided members of the press with a rare tour inside its Honda R&D Americas headquarters this week. Honda officials say that increasingly, safety — and specifically, third-party ratings from the likes of the National Highway Safety Traffic Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety — figure into the top three factors consumers weigh when purchasing a vehicle. Honda and Acura have 10, 2019 models that have earned IIHSÂ’s Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick+ ratings, and all 15, 2019 model-year Honda and Acura vehicles that have undergone NHTSA crash testing have earned a 5-star overall rating. And Honda prides itself on its growing list of safety firsts, including the first upward-deploying front passenger airbag, in 1990 in the Acura Legend; first omni-directional crash-test facility, in 2000; and the first autonomous braking system, in the 2006 Acura RL. It hopes its new three-chamber airbag goes industry-wide and joins that list. “ItÂ’s part of our companyÂ’s culture,” said Art St. Cyr, business head unit and vice president of auto operations for American Honda Motor Co. “We have a philosophy at Honda that we want to be a company that society wants to exist. That means we have to protect our customers. ThatÂ’s part of the whole mantra of doing this.” Opened in 1984, the 1.6 million square-foot Honda R&D Americas facility, located in the countryside about 45 miles northwest of Columbus, employs around 1,600 people and is HondaÂ’s largest research-and-development facility outside of Japan. Its Advanced Safety Research facility opened in 2003.
Honda HR-V could spawn Acura variant
Thu, Feb 5 2015We've been saying it for months now, but the compact CUV is the next big thing. Everyone, and we mean everyone, is at least considering getting in on the action, if they aren't already actively designing or selling, and that's true whether they're a premium or mainstream automaker. That, of course, includes Acura, whose parent company, Honda, has a compact CUV of its own coming to market very, very soon. With the arrival of the Fit-based HR-V, that begs the question of whether the near-premium marque will join this burgeoning segment. The idea of building a car below the company's entry level CUV, the RDX, is an appealing one to Honda Executive Vice President John Mendel, who called it "potentially the only place you could go," and would occupy the "white space" the company is looking to fill. While we might chuckle about the idea of a luxurious, Fit-based CUV, it's fair to say it could do well for Acura. It could certainly provide a foil to the very hot selling Buick Encore, and may even capture some sales from the luxuriously outfitted Jeep Renegade Limited/Fiat 500X Lounge. It remains to be seen, though, if Acura could build an HR-V capable of tangling with the new entries from Lexus, Audi and Mercedes-Benz.
Acura to roll out NSX Prototype for Mid-Ohio IndyCar race
Thu, 25 Jul 2013Acura will tease us yet again with its next-gen NSX when it makes an appearance at Mid-Ohio Raceway before the circuit's IndyCar race early next month. To be fair, the car's in-motion debut won't take the form of a production model - that's still a ways off - the vehicle will be a prototype. It'll be sporting custom graphics and an eye-catching paint (wrap?) job to draw the attention of the spectators, but really, we just want to hear this thing rounding the legendary road course at full chat.
The NSX prototype doesn't look to be much different from the various showcars we've seen over the last couple of years, with the same mid-engined, hybrid V6 power and all-wheel drive all present and accounted for.
The display will take place before the Honda Indy 200 IndyCar Series on August 4. The race itself starts at 3:00 pm and will be shown on NBC Sports Network.
