This auction is for my very rare 5 speed Legend coupe. Iam the third owner ( purchased about 6 years ago). The previous two owners were Acura fanatics who babied this thing and it spend a lot of that time in rust free Florida. Car is lots of fun to drive and has been very reliable. My original plan 6 years ago was to make it a restoration project however that fell through once my wife drove it and made it her daily driver ( which it was till about a month ago). Unfortunately during these 6 years it took a lot of abuse including a couple of minor side swipes the hood popping open at 40 mph , some rust ( no rust on frame only body) and some mechanical neglect.(again this gas been a daily driver for 6 years with nothing major to worry about over that time).
So now my wife gets a new car and it needs way too much work to restore to original condition for me to deal with. It needs a lot of work to keep it as a daily driver but iam hoping there is an Acura guy (or girl) out there who appreciates this for what it is. At this point it needs work and  it can be parted out or repaired or restored. Any of these are viable for the right person. Iam going to list all that is good and bad that comes to mind. I hope I don't forget anything and please ask questions. Iam not looking to rip anybody off just am hoping that this thing will find a good home and be appreciated.

The Good:
The reliability of this car has been amazing. Always starts and has never required anything !! (other than tires and brakes)
The engine runs strong and fast ( there is an initial valve tap when cold but if you know these cars you know its normal)and of course regular oil changes have been done.
Transmission shifts like an Acura however clutch started slipping slightly.
Frame is strong. Never any accidents. Only some minor surface rust on frame
Everything electrical works ( power windows ,seats etc.)... ....except power antenna.
Pretty new tires all around
Original alloy wheels ( center caps are missing)

The  Bad:

Check engine light comes on after about 5 minutes of driving. Has been like that for a few years and i never worried about it
Like I said ..clutch needs replacing soon
Exhaust has two major leaks and will need replacing
Two front springs are cracked (have been fore a while) it is drivable like that but it does effect high speed cornering a bit.
Needs a lot of body work. Hood needs replacing ( popped up at speed) and there is rust around gas filler area, some on wheel well and the worst is in the rear mainly where the acura letters attach to trunk and the trim piece that  runs along bottom of trunk (see pics) and of course the side scrape dent ( see pics).
Sunroof is cracked ( when hood popped up it hit it ). The seal around sunroof is bad ( again from when hood popped open ) and there is tape to keep it from leaking.
The driver seat is torn ( common with theses cars). The rest of interior is ok..i think the back seat is in very good condition.
There is a small leak in power steering system. Been like that for many years. Just top it off once in a while.
It currently has an aftermarket CD player. I think only the radio works ( will check with my wife  but I think she had bitched about that at one time)
AC stopped working last summer.
I think it will need new brakes soon ( not sure when they were last done )

That is all I can think of right now. Please contact me with any questions. I will update this listing if I can think of anything else so check back for changes.

The all-women Acura NSX team previews a way forward for racing

Wed, Jan 30 2019

DAYTONA, Fla. — There is a team at the 24 Hours of Daytona that's just like any other team, with experienced drivers who rightly earned their spot in the top endurance racing series in America. They are prepared to run a full season in a competitive car, and they even set the fastest time in their class at the pre-season Roar Before the 24 test. The only difference between this team and any other is that its drivers happen to be women. We went to Daytona to talk to them about their journey to the race. The No. 57 Heinricher Racing with Meyer Shank Racing Acura NSX GT3 Evo team features a roster of talented, experienced drivers: Katherine Legge, Simona de Silvestro, Bia Figueiredo and Christina Nielsen. While there have been four other all-women lineups at Daytona before, the No. 57 team is the first to be considered truly competitive. Team founder Jackie Heinricher, a biotech CEO who has raced in Ferrari Challenge, Global Rallycross Lites and Lamborghini Super Trofeo, was coached by Legge. Two years ago, she had the idea to run a car full of women – and not just a token effort, but rather a car full of drivers who could win. "The car does not know your gender, and I feel as if this sort of professional effort legitimizes that in a way that's particularly important and inspirational outside of racing," Heinricher told Autoblog. Heinricher had seen Legge struggle to get the right funding for rides before, so she didn't want to limit this team to whoever could pay. So, she first lined up the funding, thanks largely to support from primary sponsor Caterpillar. It took awhile, though, as many companies simply told her that they were out of racing sponsorships entirely. "I think perseverance might be the most underrated human quality," Heinricher said. "I just didn't give up." After funding was in place, she found a competitive partner in the Meyer Shank Racing crew, whose owner Michael Shank has run a pair of factory-backed Acura NSX GT3s in IMSA's GTD class since 2017. The GT3 shares an engine and turbo with the road-going NSX but ditches the hybrid system, making it about 670 pounds lighter. The No. 57 car is an EVO variant, which Legge helped develop, and it features improved aerodynamics to better suit it to the mix of pro and amateur drivers who take shifts racing in the GTD class. Legge had been on Shank's NSX team for the past two years as well, so Heinricher reached out to her for help assembling women who truly had the ability to win.

2020 Acura MDX PMC Edition coming to L.A. Auto Show

Sun, Nov 17 2019

The Acura TLX PMC Edition debuted at the New York Auto Show earlier this year, the 2020 Acura MDX PMC Edition takes its turn in Los Angeles on November 20. The MDX PMC, hand-built at the Performance Manufacturing Center like the Acura NSX and TLX before it, will be limited to 330 units. The 300 examples destined for the U.S. and 30 for Canada represent 30 fewer units than the quota for the TLX PMC. That could translate into tighter demand for the MDX PMC, since the standard crossover does about 70 percent more business in the U.S. than the standard sedan. The doted-on MDX PMC follows the formula of combining Valencia Red Pearl paint with the normally-exclusive Advanced and A-Spec packages. Dark contrasts come from the body color grille surrounding gloss-black mesh, black chrome exhaust finishers, gloss-black decorating the roof, antenna, exterior mirrors, window molding, rear license plate garnish, and door handles, and gloss black 20-inch wheels. Inside is found an A-Spec steering wheel backed by metal-finished paddle shifters, black Milano leather seats with Alcantara inserts, red stitching throughout, and an individually numbered plaque identifying the build number. Extra luxury kit includes GPS-linked climate control, climate-controlled front- and second-row seats with second-row captain's chairs, and 10-speaker ELS Studio audio. The engine specs don't change, those being a 3.5-liter V6 with 290 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque shifting through a nine-speed automatic. Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive keeps the power in shape. When the automaker laid down a marker for the TLX PMC price, it said to expect something around $50,000, the final figure after destination coming in at $50,945. Acura says to expect the MDX PMC to figure in the "mid-$60,000 range," so don't be surprised at $66K minus some change.

Acura releases yet another NSX track teaser vid

Sat, 03 Aug 2013

On Sunday, August 4th (yep, that's tomorrow), a prototype version of the all-new Acura NSX will make its public track debut ahead of the Honda 200 IndyCar race. Acura has already given us a short video snippet to enjoy, but now it's added one more to get our hearts racing just a little more.
Before you watch it, make sure your speakers or headphones are turned up, because what the low-resolution video lacks in visual quality, it more than makes up for with its audio of the NSX's exhaust screaming as the car tackles Mid-Ohio. And at the end of the video, the caption reads "watch the NSX racing prototype take a lap."
Acura isn't joking either. From what we hear, the car is expected to take one lap before the race and then disappear for the weekend. Scroll down to see and hear the NSX in action.
