1996 Acura Integra Gsr Itr Clipped, Rare B17a1 Db8 on 2040-cars
Danville, Virginia, United States
1996 Integra GS-R sedan, true DB8 with approx. 180K miles. It has a JDM ITR cluster that reads in kilometers. This is an extremely clean car, NO RUST, clean title, no wrecks, clean auto report with the exception of the mileage inaccuracy from the JDM cluster swap. It's not perfect, but it's a rare car with the rare B17A1 from a 93 GS-R. The donor car had 120K when it was hit in the rear. Mods: FRESH (under 100 miles) B17A1 completely rebuilt with Honda OEM parts by a Honda master tech (receipts for parts included), Weapon-R one piece 4-2-1 header, Apex-i catback, Fidanza lightweight flywheel, Skunk2 1.75" drop springs, KYB AGX adjustable shocks, Blox upper control arms, Blox rear camber kit, Blox gold rear lower control arms, slotted/drilled rotors, Tenzo R rear tie bar, Prothane rear control arm bushings,DB6 JDM front end coversion, RARE JDM door visors, Nighthawk Black Pearl paint, 16" Konig Remember wheels, 30% tint, shaved rear antennae, Type-R carpet, Type-R floor mats, Type-R Momo steering wheel, Type-R JDM cluster, Viper 5000 alarm with LCD pager system 1 mile radius, stealth kill switch, Hydro Dipped Zombie spark plug cover & intake tube. All new fluids, new tires, and new battery installed. The engine has less than 100 miles on the rebuild and I have babied it. The engine had a COMPLETE overhaul from top to bottom. No short cuts were taken and only Honda OEM parts were used. It runs and sounds perfect. Negatives: It is still running the stock P72 ECU and is throwing the check engine light the for O2 sensor from the race headers. The windshield has a crack, passenger axle clicks some (new driver side), passenger fender has some slight dents that could be repaired, holes (sealed) from the factory wing, its an 18 year old car and not perfect. The AC is hooked up but not producing cold air. I have an extra compressor that will go with it in case that is the problem. The power steering system is all there but the B17 is still running the two drive crank pulley and would need a three drive from a B16, B18 or B20 to use the power steering again. I'm asking $5,000 or best offer. My "reserve" price is well below my asking price and will be my bottom dollar. I'm not interested in trades. The buyer will responsible for pickup and shipping (Danville, Va.) Cash in person is the prefered method of payment. Thank you. |

Acura's MDX SEMA concept took the wrong parts from the NSX GT3
Thu, Oct 27 2016When it comes to SEMA show cars, the more absurd the better, such as with the 1,040-horsepower Bisimoto Hyundai Santa Fe. That's not the case with Acura's custom MDX. This crossover was designed to match the NSX GT3 racecar, and gets a custom trailer to tow it. However, instead of doing something awesome like dropping in the NSX's twin-turbo V6, Acura decided the defining characteristics of the race car were the paint, splitter, and wing. So that's what the MDX and trailer got. In addition to a matching white paint scheme with orange and black accents, the SUV wears a massive front splitter that looks like a shelf stuck close to the ground. It's the only aero modification on the vehicle, and it just looks silly, what with the massive gap between the base of the bumper and the splitter itself. There aren't any performance modifications on this SUV either, except the lowered suspension, so the only thing the splitter is likely to do is break off on the first mildly steep driveway it comes across. To complement the MDX's dubious aero aid, the custom trailer gets a "wing" at the back. Actually, it looks like Acura slapped some endplates on the back to give it a wing look. The trailer also gets running boards that extend the splitter along the side. Maybe it all works together to keep the trailering rig planted. But probably not. If Acura wants suggestions for next time, we suggest a mid-engined MDX, or perhaps one with a wild hybrid system. We'll call this a missed opportunity. Ford, Toyota clean up in Best Car For The Money Awards
Fri, 22 Feb 2013The U.S. News Best Cars for the Money Awards picks winners by looking at the average transaction price, five-year total cost of ownership, the regard a car has from the automotive press, reliability figures from J.D. Power and Associates and safety data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The result, according to the magazine, is "the best combination of critical acclaim and long-term value."
Ford nabbed six of the 21 categories that received awards this year, the Focus, Fusion, Fusion Hybrid, Taurus, Escape and Edge getting trophies. Toyota and its Lexus and Scion sub-brands took another five, the Tacoma and Tundra owning the two categories given to pickup trucks. The other ten awards were split between Honda with three, Buick with two, and one each for Subaru, BMW, Hyundai, Chevrolet and Mazda.

2016 Acura NSX aimed at Ferrari 458 for the price of Audi R8
Wed, 08 Oct 2014Acura has done a good job of keeping the next-generation NSX under the wraps for the past few months, especially after a fiery little incident during testing at the Nürburgring earlier this year. But UK's What Car? recently got a chance to speak with development boss Ted Klaus, and he unleashed a few new details about the much-anticipated supercar to make it even harder for us to wait.
Among the info was a strong estimate of the NSX's performance potential. "We have to achieve the type of acceleration that the customer is achieving with the Ferrari," said Klaus to What Car?. "More importantly we have to achieve this every day and also at the Nürburgring." Assuming Acura's supercar is as actually quick as a 458 Italia, then it could hit 60 miles per hour in around 3.5 seconds.
Klaus also claims that the wickedly fast performance could come at a relative bargain for the class. The price is reportedly being benchmarked against the Audi R8, which would put the NSX around $130,000 in the US. While hardly cheap, it would still be a healthy discount off a 458.
