1993 Acura Integra K20z3 Swap - Many Upgrades on 2040-cars
Van Nuys, California, United States
I'm finally selling my 1993 Acura Integra RS. The LS engine was swapped out with a 2006 K20Z3 that only had 900 miles on it. It currently has about 7,000 miles on the swap. It's a six speed with factory lsd. It has a 5th generation honda prelude cluster, wilwood front brakes, sparco seats, aem ems2 ecu, RDX injectors, skunk2 mega power header, DASBY DESIGN 3" header back exhaust, BISIMOTO cams (not installed yet), BISIMOTO upgraded valve springs and retainers, walbro fuel pump. Innovative mounts, hybrid racing shift box, hybrid racing shift cables, mishimoto 160* thermostat, Mishimoto Radiator (Dasby Design modified), 1 piece headlights (not installed). The car was tuned by Bisimoto and pulled 197whp. It was taken to church's automotive for a baseline after bisi tuned it and it pulled 233 whp. I have dyno sheets for Bisi, but do not have the ones from Church. Racing Hart S7 Wheels wrapped with Bridgestone RE040 tires with plenty of life left. Pioneer CD player.
The interior is in great condition. The exterior is factory black and has held up well. It has a few dings and chips and scratches. The car is quick and fairly quiet until you get on it. The car has been smogged and is good for another 50 days. I'm selling because I'm working on another project and do not have room for both. I do not recall the exact mileage on the chassis, but I believe it is around 150-170K, but the swap has only 7,000 miles on it. The suspension is stock, but is lowered on aftermarket springs. One of the pictures has the old 1/2 size radiator, which did not provide enough cooling, but the last picture shows the mishimoto full size radiator. Custom gauges have been installed in the glove box, but there's room for the owners manual and insurance paperwork. 2 temp gauges (one attached to top of radiator and the other to the bottom so you can isolate any temp issues and the 3rd gauge is an aem gauge, which reads temps off the head. This gauge can also read oil temp, as well as others with the appropriate sensors.) It still has the heater and power steering. Please look over youtube video that Bisimoto posted on the web. The car is being listed locally, so I do reserve the right to end sale at any time. Please email me for questions. I am the 3 owner of the car. The 2nd owner was involved in an accident in which they hit a deer. The vehicle was repaired and has not had an issue. Front bumper, driver side head light and hood were replaced. |

2018 Acura TLX will get the Precision concept's grille
Tue, Mar 28 2017The mid-cycle refresh for the Acura TLX is upon us, and the first teaser shows a car with the new corporate face. The dimly lit image shows the car's pentagonal grille we first saw on the Precision concept at last year's Detroit auto show, and is currently found on the MDX crossover. The full reveal will come on April 11 at the New York auto show. The new fascia should be a significant improvement over the boring, generic one found on the current TLX. A closer look under brighter light also reveals that some of the character lines and creases aren't as sharp and crisp as those on the Precision concept. And while this new TLX should be more distinct that the current model, the headlights are certainly reminiscent of the scowling units on the new Opel Insignia. Acura says this refresh comes with significant updates but doesn't elaborate on what they are. Updates could include a standard 9-speed for both V6 and inline-4 engines, increased power, and a refreshed interior. We'll have all the details when the car launches in the coming weeks. Acura TSX Sport Wagon on the way out?
Fri, 07 Jun 2013With Acura widely expected to consolidate its TSX and TL sedans into one model line in the near future, the fate of the TSX Sport Wagon is unsurprisingly in doubt. The long-rumored one-for-two sedan replacement is said to be dubbed TLX, and will sit above the Honda Civic-derived ILX, a model that already encroaches on the TSX's pricing and size. According to Ward's Auto, Acura officials are refusing to confirm that today's TSX wagon - effectively a re-schnozzed European-market Accord estate - is facing extinction. Reading the tea leaves, however, things certainly don't look good - the European Accord itself is said to be on the bubble and may not be replaced.
The TSX Sport Wagon was brought to the US as a niche play for the 2011 model year, with Acura of Canada taking a pass on the bodystyle. Officials said at the time that it hoped to shift 4,000 units per annum, roughly a 10-percent sliver of US TSX sales. And while Acura doesn't normally break out the wagon in its sales reports, Autoblog was able to obtain the model's totals for the last two years: the company sold 3,210 Sport Wagons in 2011, improving to 4,234 units last year. The current 2013 model began trickling into showrooms in December, but some dealers are still looking to clear out remaining 2012 models at handsome discounts.
MotorWeek remembers the 1993 Acura Legend coupe
Fri, Sep 25 2015When discussing classic Acura models, the Legend, particularly as a two-door, doesn't get brought up nearly as often as the Integra or NSX. Perhaps that's because those sporty models were brash for their time, whereas this bigger car came off as a more conservative ride. For a MotorWeek Retro Review, John Davis and crew have looked back at a 1993 Legend coupe to give us a chance to remember Acura's luxury GT. In 1993, the newly revised 3.2-liter V6 managed 230 horsepower, and this one had power routed through a six-speed manual. It also came packed with luxury features, including automatic climate control and traction control. However, the Legend turned out to be more of a comfy cruiser than an all-out sports coupe for the reviewers. MotorWeek wasn't happy with the performance through the slalom, and the shifter wasn't perfect, either. Still, this clip is a great refresher on a model that's often overlooked. Related Video:
