Acura NSX hybrid wins Time Attack 2 division at Pikes Peak

Acura sent three NSX supercars up the PIkes Peak Hill Climb and one of them - the TA2 that was a standard NSX with some additional safety equipment - beat out its competition in the Time Attack 2 class by over 11 seconds with a time of 10:28.820. Nick Robinson was the driver. This was not his first time atop the podium, as he won the PP250 motorcycle class last year. The EV concept NSX came in second in the Electric Modified class with a time of 9:06.015. That's good enough for third place overall. Acura says that the TA1 NSX - which had a lighter chassis and a modified racing exhaust – "also campaigned." Both the TA1 and TA2 NSX vehicles used the car's standard three-motor hybrid powertrain. Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee earns Seinfeld four more seasons

We're going to be talking about Jerry Seinfeld and his excellent web series, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, for quite a long time, as it's been picked up for four more seasons. Considering the show just wrapped up its third season a few months ago, this marks quite a big win. The new order, reported by Variety, calls for 24 episodes, with Acura carrying on as the show's sole and primary sponsor. CICGC is already slated for a fourth season this summer, which includes five episodes, and a seven-episode fifth season in the fall. Guests for season four include Aziz Ansari, Jon Stewart and Sarah Jessica Parker, although we've no idea what sort of cars are in store. It's unclear when seasons six through nine will air, but if 2014 is any indication, we should expect the bulk of the episodes to arrive some time in 2015. For enthusiasts – especially enthusiasts with money – these are halcyon days. But make no mistake, all of this power has a purpose. Ford product chief Raj Nair said the Blue Oval uses high performance cars to develop technologies, like aerodynamics and materials, which are then shared across its lineup. "It's another proof point about how serious we are in developing innovation through performance," he said. Ford, which is rolling out at least 12 performance cars by 2020, said the sporty cars attract younger and more influential buyers to its fold, which can help burnish its image beyond adding sales volume.
