2005 Chevrolet SSR in Slingshot Yellow. Power retractable hardtop, convertible vehicle. This SSR has the LS2 6.0 liter 390 HP V8 Corvette engine (available only in 2005 and 2006 SSR’s). It also has the fairly rare and desirable six-speed close-ratio Tremec T-56 manual transmission with the 9.5 in. Eaton heavy-duty limited slip rear differential. It has the 19 inch front and 20 inch rear factory chrome wheels (this car came with the alloy wheels and I traded them for a set of the same size factory chrome wheels) which have had new Firestone Firehawk tires mounted on them of the same size as the factory tires (I am not sure at what mileage the original tires were replaced with these new ones, but the tread on these tires is extremely good, with no excessive wear on any one of the tires, nor any uneven wear; the car tracks perfectly down the road—no pull to either side). It has the leather-wrapped steering wheel, factory leather seats (that have no tears or imperfections) and the factory SSR logo Floor Mats with decorative piping. It has the ZQ8 Sport Performance Suspension with independent front and five-link rear design.
This vehicle came loaded with the 1SB Preferred Equipment Group (PEG), which includes auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink (garage door opener, etc.); reading lamps and halo lighting; dual power, heated exterior mirrors with driver-side auto-dimming; headed seats with driver memory seat feature (programmable for two different drivers, one with each key fob); Bose speaker system with 250-watt amplifier and AudioPilot noise suppression; six-disc, in-dash CD changer; color-coded engine cover insert.
This car was also ordered with the Color-Keyed Package with Running Boards, which included the cargo area carpeted bed with color-matched slats, the yellow engine cover insert, the color-matched running boards, and the color-matched three auxiliary gauge cluster (voltage, delivered torque, and outside temperature) located in front of the transmission center shifter and console. This car was also ordered with the Towing Package, which includes a lockable (two keys) rear hitch extension that inserts into a frame cross member with wiring pigtail, etc.

Are you the 2014 Corvette Grand Sport?
Thu, 21 Feb 2013When are stripes more than just stripes? Follow up question: Is the product development team at Chevrolet really cocky enough to hide the next C7 Corvette variant in plain sight? This very recently spotted, and ostensibly obscured C7 asks a lot more questions than it answers, but there's at least some evidence to support that it might be the next Corvette Grand Sport.
The first and most obvious tip-off that something is up with this 'Vette revolves around those silver stripes. Obviously the stripes themselves don't necessarily denote a new model. However, when Chevy recently launched its "colorizer" website for the Stingray, there was no provision made for racing stripes - solid colors only.
Grand Sport exhibit number two is actually an incriminating lack of badges. The production Corvettes we've seen to date have all carried Stingray badges on their fenders, just behind the vent. The car seen in these images has no such badges, which is an intriguing omission on an car that looks like a production-spec vehicle otherwise.
2015 Chevrolet Cruze spied on its home turf
Tue, 23 Apr 2013The next Chevrolet Cruze isn't set to go into production for about another year, and we're just now seeing prototypes of the new compact running around here in the States. Not much more has been revealed since we saw the car blasting through the snow in Europe, but we can still clearly see new design elements like the larger grille, slimmer headlamps and redesigned taillamps.
Our spy photographers worked up a composite image of this Cruze prototype alongside the current model, and here, we can clearly see some big visual changes are in store for the new model. The 2015 Cruze's hood slopes downward more dramatically, the windshield is more heavily raked, and the roofline looks more fluid overall. The next-generation Cruze will ride on the new global Delta platform that will also underpin other General Motors vehicles like the Chevrolet Volt and Equinox.
As for what's under the hood, we expect the normal range of gasoline four-cylinder engines (both naturally aspirated and turbocharged), and the compact's new turbodiesel four should carry over, as well. Have a look at the full brace of spy photos in the gallery above.
GM throttles back Chevy Malibu, Buick LaCrosse production over swollen inventories
Wed, 06 Feb 2013As inventory of the Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse continues to pile up, General Motors will be idling its Fairfax Assembly Plant for two weeks, according to Automotive News. This move comes about a month after the plant was shut down for three weeks in late December and early January for the same reason. As of January 31, the GM had a 94-day supply of Malibu stock while the LaCrosse was a little worse with a 117-day supply.
Just last week, GM announced that it would be investing $600 million in upgrading this plant, but it's unclear what future plans the company has in store for Fairfax considering slow sales of both the plant's models. We do expect a refreshed and more luxurious LaCrosse shortly and an early design update for the Malibu to be announced at some point this year, although we have had no official word as to when either will happen.
