·       2005 Pontiac G6, one owner, low miles, will turn over 77,000 soon.  I am the original owner, purchased October 2004 so it will be 10 years old soon. It was the first one off the truck when the G6 was introduced. Which means nothing but I’ve owned a couple of Pontiacs in my life and always like them!

·       Clean NV title, no salvage or rebuild.

·       Its one of the GM cars that have been recalled this year. I have 3 recall notices and I checked last week with a GM Dealer. They have the parts for 2 of the recalls and it takes all day for the work to be done.

·       The car is in good condition, good paint and body, and has a small ding in driver’s door and one on right rear wheel arch.

·       I was rear-ended by a guy with no insurance in May 2013, total repairs came to about $3800.00. It was repaired locally by a great body shop, no damage to the unibody pieces.

·       There are no cracks in the windshield, but it has 10 years of use and some pitting.

It's had regular oil changes.

The tires are good with about 35K miles on them. I got a big nail in the left rear last summer so it's newer but the same brand.

I had to spend about $1200 on fuel tank repairs about 3 years ago due to a gas leak. It had $600 worth of brake work in April this year and $700 for a new water pump and all the hoses in July.

·       It has a sliding sunroof which works, and it has a sunroof deflector.

·       The Air Conditioning works and blows cold. Heater and defrost work well. One of the center vents in the dashboard is broken but can still be used.

·       It has cruise control which works. The steering wheel button that turns on the cruise sticks when you push it is but eventually comes out. Power windows, all of which still work. There’s power driver’s seat, although I haven’t used it much at all.

·       I have 2 ignition keys, and one remote keyfob to lock and unlock the door and trunk. I just bought the new fob last week.

·       It has a 6CD player which doesn't work. My granddaughter put a burned CD in it once and it won't come out.  It doesn't have any MP3 or any other connections. When I first bought it, I was into Satellite Radio and had a mount attached to the back of the radio to hold the satellite thing. I gave up satellite and the mount is still there.

·       The interior is in clean condition and in decent shape but shows some wear in the driver’s seat. I've been in this car alone about 99 percent of the time. I have a set of heavy duty floor mats. The carpets in the front could use a shampoo job, I think, but there’s no big stains or holes in it.

Clean car overall and looks great, especially when it's been washed.

Ford, Toyota clean up in Best Car For The Money Awards

Fri, 22 Feb 2013

The U.S. News Best Cars for the Money Awards picks winners by looking at the average transaction price, five-year total cost of ownership, the regard a car has from the automotive press, reliability figures from J.D. Power and Associates and safety data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The result, according to the magazine, is "the best combination of critical acclaim and long-term value."
Ford nabbed six of the 21 categories that received awards this year, the Focus, Fusion, Fusion Hybrid, Taurus, Escape and Edge getting trophies. Toyota and its Lexus and Scion sub-brands took another five, the Tacoma and Tundra owning the two categories given to pickup trucks. The other ten awards were split between Honda with three, Buick with two, and one each for Subaru, BMW, Hyundai, Chevrolet and Mazda.

Watch this time-lapse build of the Chevy SS for NASCAR

Fri, 08 Feb 2013

There's only about a week left until we get our first look at the production version of the 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan, but Chevrolet NASCAR teams have been looking at the race version of the car all winter. Autoweek has posted a really neat time-lapse video showing just a portion of what it takes to build one of NASCAR's new Gen6 stock cars.
Though the video is quite brief, it does show almost the entire build process starting with just the car's nose, and it gives us a good look at how integral the template is to the final product. As a bonus, Hendrick Motorsports also provided some videos showing two of its teams performing pit stop tests over the winter. The second video shows some of the more detailed aspects of the racecar's rear end, including the stock-looking trunk cutout and a newly mandated rear bumper extension that will be used on super speedways like Daytona and Talladega.
To see what Team Chevy has been up to all off-season, check out all three videos posted after the jump.

Chevrolet Malibu gets across-the-board price cuts, hopes to dig out of slump

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

To say that things aren't going well for the newly redesigned 2013 Chevrolet Malibu is a pretty sizable understatement. Reports have been swirling about the Malibu getting an emergency design refresh, less than a year after its introduction, as well as having its production at the Fairfax Assembly Plant halted twice already this year for excessive inventory. Now, Motor Trend is reporting that the midsize sedan will be receiving price drops across the board ranging from $300 on a number of models up to $770 on the 1LT trim; offsetting some of MSRP drop, though, the destination charge has increased from $760 to $810.
Without destination, the entry-level Malibu LS now starts at $21,995, which is still about $300 more than a Honda Accord and about $300 less than the segment's top-selling Toyota Camry. This new pricing also drops the price of the Eco, 2LT and 3LT trims by $300. The LTZ trim has dropped by $415, meaning that the Malibu's top dog now starts at just under $30,000, excluding destination.
Here are the new starting prices for all eight of the Malibu trim levels compared to the previous prices for the 2013 model year (including destination):
