A very well maintained proper Karmann Ghia in the very beautiful Olympic blue.
Runs very well, with spirited factory 1600CC dual port engine. Engine was recently tuned, carburetor rebuilt replacing fuel/vacuum lines with new German braided kind. Muffler, heat exchangers, clutch, transmission are in great shape. The body is very straight, and the paint is in very good condition. It was repainted about 4 years ago in the original Olympic Blue, factory code L51P, the paint still looks new. The exterior has new front VW badge, new and side Karmann Ghia badge, new side molding, and new hubcaps. The floor pans are in excellent condition, replaced at some point in the past, very well done. The area under the battery is in remarkable condition, with only minor pinhole rust which was repaired and encapsulated.
Interior: new carpet, headliner, front door panels, and seat upholstery. The brakes are good and the tires are in good condition. Has many new weatherstrip seals including front/rear window, tail lights, engine lid. The rear bumper could use rechroming but is more than acceptable in appearance.

Car has new Ipod/Iphone ready stereo system.

World Car Of The Year down to its final four

Judges for the World Car of the Year Award have narrowed down the finalists to just four vehicles. Out of a total of 42 entries, only the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, Porsche Boxster/Cayman, Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ/Toyota GT-86 and Volkswagen Golf remain standing. For Volkswagen, this marks the second consecutive year the company has had an entry among the finalists, and the fourth time since 2009. In order to qualify, a vehicle must be on sale on two continents during the span of time between January 1, 2013 and May 30, 2013. A panel of 66 journalists from 23 countries then vote on the finalists.
Three vehicles have made the cut for the last round of voting on the 2013 World Performance Car as well, with the Cayman/Boxster and FR-S/BRZ/GT-86 running against the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. Meanwhile, the Renault Zoe, Tesla Model S and Volvo V60 Plug-In Hybrid are duking it out for the World Green Car Award. Finally, the World Car Design of the Year Award is up for grabs between the Aston Martin Vanquish, Jaguar F-Type, and the Mazda6. Check out the full press release below. Carlex Criollo is a Volkswagen Multivan shrine to Alcantara, leather and... fish

A keen angler recently went to Polish tuner Carlex Design (the same folks who did that steampunk Mini Countryman a while back) for a revamp of his Volkswagen Multivan. What resulted is perhaps the most striking - yet fishing-unfriendly - interior we've ever seen in a van. Below the shoulder line, if a surface isn't covered in cross-stitched Alcantara, then it's covered in cross-stitched leather. Even the steering wheel airbag boss. And the seat supports. And the cupholders.
The brown hue of the Multivan's interior is called Criollo, named for an especially fine specimen of cocoa. The finishing touch on the overhaul is a fileting knife that Carlex made for the owner. We imagine he'll use the knife for the marine life, but keep his van far away from it.
