1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo. HARDTOP! Red, 5-speed, 78K Original miles. 2nd owner. PERFECT Condition! Tan Leather Interior.

Hello,
I am selling my prized 1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo. This is the hardtop the RAREST body style that the MR2 came in since most MR2's came with either a sunroof or T-Tops. (Both known to seriously leak over time.) The MR2 hardtop version is structurally stronger and lighter than the sunroof/T-top MR2's and this being the factory turbo this version is also the fastest. Car and Driver rated the Toyota MR2 as a future collectible: Car & Driver 90's Collectibles (Part 2) see article here: http://www.caranddriver.com/features/nineties-collectibles-part-two-toyota-mr2-turbo-and-ford-mustang-cobra How rare is this car? Most MR2 forums estimate that they only imported about 200 hardtops into the U.S. although no official records have been shown. The reason is that most Americans didn't want a hardcore track version of the car opting for the open air feeling of the T-top or sunroof. Out of 200 hardtops it is estimated that half were non-turbo. That drops the numbers down to about 100 officially imported Hardtop Turbos to come to the U.S. Of those 100 subtract the amount that have broken down, been Fast & Furious-ed out, wrapped around a tree, have high miles (Less than 8% of Mr2's have less than 100K miles on the Odo. That was the percentage listed by MR2 Board on 10/14/2007. After 6 years that number is probably a lot lower now.) or finally come in a weird color for a sports color like teal. This gives you an idea of just HOW RARE this particular example really is. Because of the car's rare numbers it was able to be registered as a classic through Hagerty Classic Car Insurance.

Car's History:
The car came in the U.S through a Toyota Mississippi dealership , transferred to Louisiana dealership where the original owner bought the car new off the showroom floor. He moved to Atlanta where the car stayed with him for twenty years in his garage. being used it as his weekend toy. He bought a farm in North Carolina and decided to sell the MR2. I bought the car with 72K miles on the odo, took it to Alabama where I kept it for over a year. I then moved to Atlanta where the car has been for the past year and a half. The car is still registered as an Alabama vehicle. It currently has 78K miles.

Why am I'm selling the car?... Old story. Need to sell the car for a down payment on a house. Asking 17K. If I can't get enough for a down payment. I'm keeping the car.

Toyota C-HR stays sharp from prototype to production

Tue, Mar 1 2016

Scion is dead. While the troubled brand was given 13 years to make a case for itself, it never quite succeeded. And that's a shame, because we're pretty confident that this, the production-spec Toyota C-HR would have been one of its biggest hits. Instead, when it arrives in the US, it will be as a Toyota... where it will still likely be a big hit. The new small CUV made its debut after literally years of teasing concepts, the most recent of which was shown late last year in Los Angeles, where it was badged as a Scion. After seeing that car, it's quite clear that Toyota has strained itself to translate its style to the real world. Up front, there's clear inspiration from the Toyota Auris/Scion iM. But aside from the front, the C-HR's biggest inspiration appears to be the Nissan Juke. View 14 Photos It's like Toyota has tried to go even further, though. Its wheel arches are flared even more aggressively and they feed into a strong character line on the lower portion of the doors. In back, Toyota's designers seem to have just rotated the Juke's taillights 180 degrees while they sit below an extremely fast rear window. Said window is integrated into today's latest design trend, a floating roof. Mechanically, the C-HR rides atop Toyota's New Global Architecture, which is Japan's answer to Volkswagen's MQB architecture. Power comes from a hybrid drivetrain, good for a relaxed 120 horsepower. If you don't want hybrid power, Toyota will sell the C-HR with the Euro-market Auris' turbo 1.2-liter engine, but we almost certainly won't see that here in the US. Instead, American drivers will probably be left with nothing but a 2.0-liter, naturally aspirated four-cylinder. That engine will be exclusively paired with a continuously variable transmission that sends power to either the front- or to all four wheels. So there's Juke inspiration, but not in the driving character. Toyota says it will build the C-HR Hybrid in Turkey. We don't know if that facility will handle US-market vehicles or just Europe, but we wouldn't be surprised to see additional facilities come online to produce this stylish little bugger. 2021 L.A. Auto Show roundup | All the reveals, reviews, pictures

Thu, Nov 18 2021

The L.A. Auto Show took place this week for the first time since the onset of the pandemic. It was a show packed with news and reveals, which hasn't really been the case with other shows we've seen this year, and Autoblog was on the floor covering every minute of it. Well, Riswick and Stocksdale were, anyway. The rest of us were sitting at home in our sweatpants, but hey, we'll take credit anyway. Let's get to it. Hyundai Seven Concept This is the Hyundai Seven Concept, and it’s meant to act as a preview for an incoming electric SUV for the Ioniq brand. It leans more toward the concept side of the spectrum than a production car, but expect the final SUV to take design cues from the Seven Concept. Kia Concept EV9 The Hyundai Seven counterpart isn't the only big, bold electric SUV at L.A. this year. Kia has its own take, and it's a modernized version of the traditional boxy utility vehicle called the Concept EV9. It also previews one of the next production electric cars for the brand, which should look right at home next to things like the Telluride. 2023 Kia Sportage HEV As promised, the 2023 Kia Sportage HEV has been revealed. The hybrid powertrain makes the compact SUV the most powerful version available, and it goes on sale next year. The engine is a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder paired with a 44-kW electric motor. Total output is 226 horsepower. The company didn't give a torque number, but it should basically be the same as the Sorento HEV that has the same basic powertrain: 258 pound-feet. Those numbers are a healthy step up from the 187 horsepower of the base 2.5-liter engine. 2022 Range Rover If you noticed how extra smooth and suave the new Range Rover looked during its recent reveal, Autoblog's James Riswick got a design tour that revealed some of the technological secrets to its success. "Less is more" is harder to achieve than it looks. Fisker Ocean Fisker has brought the new Ocean EV to the L.A. Auto Show, with a public preview at Manhattan Beach and a presence at the show itself. You can watch the public show reveal above, and see more shots from the show floor below. Fisker says the Ocean will start at $37,499 before incentives. That entry model would be the Sport trim with a single, 275-horsepower motor driving the front wheels and 250 miles of estimated range. It also has a 0-60 time of 6.9 seconds. 2023 Toyota bZ4X This is the 2023 Toyota bZ4X, due to hit U.S.
