Basic Information:

The car was purchased in 2002 for my wife.  It had one previous owner.  My wife worked not to far from our house and so not many miles were put on the Vehicle.  My wife will soon be commuting about 120 miles a day and unfortunately, since we love the vehicle and to the chagrin of my wife we decided to replace it with something with better Gas mileage.

Maintenance:

Below is a list of the Car's maintenance since January 2014.  All regular oil changes were done by a local mechanic who also did any work whenever any issues arose.

  • 1/14 - New Battery
  • 2/14 - 4 New Tires and Alignment
  • 3/14 - Muffler Line to the Cat.
  • 4/14 - New Front and Rear Brakes
  • 5/14 - Oil Change
  • 6/14 - Rotated Tires

Local Test Drives and Car Pictures:

I will try to accommodate local test drives and or vehicle inspections by you or your mechanic.  If there are further questions I can answer or pictures I can take, please let me know.  Again, I will do my best to accommodate them.

Winning Bidder:

The winning bidder must pay a $250 deposit via PayPal within 24 hours of winning the auction.   The car must be picked up or arrangements made for it to be picked up within 7 days. The winning bidder is responsible for shipping or picking up the car.  If you need help coordinating the pick up of the vehicle with the shipper, let me know.

Toyota investing $200M in Southern manufacturing

Sun, 23 Jun 2013

Over the past two years, Toyota has invested more than $2 billion at its North American production facilities, and it apparently doesn't plan on stopping there. To keep up with recent strong sales, Toyota is investing an additional $200 million at its engine plants in the Southern US to increase production capacity of its V6 engines.
The bulk of this money ($150 million) will go to expand Toyota's engine plant in Huntsville, AL, which is currently responsible for supplying engines - four-cylinder, V6 and V8 - to eight of Toyota's 12 domestically produced vehicles. That includes the best-selling Toyota Camry (shown above).
Toyota didn't say exactly what improvements are being made to the plant, but this follows last year's $80 million investment in the plant that is set to be completed by next year raising the engine capacity to 750,000 annual units including 362,000 V6s. The remaining $50 million will go to the casting plants of Toyota-owned Bodine Aluminum in Missouri and Tennessee, which supply engine blocks and cylinder heads to the Huntsville engine plant as well as others in Kentucky and West Virginia. J.D. Power: Vehicle dependability at all-time high, Lexus and Porsche lead

Wed, 13 Feb 2013

Each year, J.D. Power and Associates surveys original owners of three-year-old vehicles to find out what kinds of problems they have had experienced over the last 12 months, and then it uses this data to create its annual Vehicle Dependability Study. This means that the models in the 2013 study are 2010 model year vehicles, and J.D. Power rates each make as well as the top individual models based on how many problems were experienced per 100 vehicles (PP100).
Debunking the idea that carryover models are more dependable than new or updated models, the 2013 study found that the average carryover model experienced 133 PP100, while all-new or redesigned vehicles for the 2010 model year had 116 PP100; vehicles that received minor changes fared the best with just 111 PP100. The overall average for all makes was 126 PP100, which is the lowest figure since the findings were first issued in 1989.

Vice chronicles Okinawa's illegal street racing scene

Mon, 10 Mar 2014

We all know that street racing is dangerous, and that motorsports are best left on the track or drag strip. However, that doesn't mean that there still isn't some outlaw allure among enthusiasts of racing on public roads. In this video, Vice Japan profiles Eikichi Nagayoshi of Japan's island of Okinawa. He is a used car dealer by day and an illegal racer by night.
Nagayoshi has a deep love for his highly customized Toyota Aristo (better known to us as a first-generation Lexus GS) that he claims produces over 1,000 horsepower and has hit 205 miles per hour. He races his car both on drag strips and in drifting competitions, but says that he often has to ship the car to mainland Japan to compete. In the absence of those opportunities, he sometimes gathers friends and takes the racing to the public roads. While we're not down with street racing, this Vice video is an intriguing personality piece, as well as a look into Japan's fabled underground racing scene. Scroll down to check out the video, but make sure you have the "CC" button clicked, because several portions are subtitled.
