For Sale by owner, myself, title in hand is my 2003 Nissan 350Z Twin Turbo. In 2005 I traded in my 2003 Mitsubishi Evo 8 for a 2003 Nissan 350Z. At the time I was stationed in Colorado and the elevation killed the naturally aspirated VQ35DE power. Dyno results showed a 30whp lost due to the elevation. Only way to overcome this power loss was a power adder… Or two.
In 2008 I went with the JWT 700BB Twin Turbo kit sporting the famous Disco Potato GT2860RS turbos. Funds were limited so I stuck with the stock block. End result was an average of 420whp and 400wtq at 10psi. To help stop the extra power StopTech ST40 & ST22 big brakes were added. A JWT clutch and flywheel was selected to take the boost abuse and a TurboXS UTEC for tuning. In July of 2010, back home in Houston, the OEM 2003 weak transmission finally give out and I lost third gear. Funds were ever more limited and I parked the Z. I told myself I wouldn’t fix the trans unless I was ready to build the block at the same time. A lot of reading, telephone calls and research ensued. December 2011 I started the engine build with an IPP Stage 3 VQ long block sporting; PolyDyn coated CP 8.5:1 pistons, Cosworth Rods, JWT C2 cams, ARP L19 rods and bolts, heads & valve job and, all other supporting parts was purchased. As time passed more and more was added. The UTEC had served it purpose but was very dated. HalTech released their full ECU replacement Platinum Pro EMS and I knew that was the only was to control & tune the new engine. The JWT clutch just wouldn’t take the abuse of the extra power so a Carbonetic Twin Disc and flywheel was chosen. The OEM LSD was good but I wanted the best and so a Quaife diff went in. Since I have ambition to run the Texas Mile, the 350Z auto, 3.3 final drive gear replaced the six speed manual’s 3.5 ratio. Heat is always a problem in Houston and I didn’t want to worry about it. The Nissan Pathfinder cooling mod was installed on the block, a Koyo oversized radiator was already installed and I had everything PolyDyn coated. All piping, the down pipes, exhaust manifolds and, turbine housings. To finish off the exhaust I went with the Greddy RS catback. The Hotchkis springs were another item that have served their purpose and I wanted the best again. KW V3 coil overs were installed with SPL camber arms and links. As far as the body components, the Z went to PowerFab with an AeroSync N1 front, Seibon TS carbon hood, Nismo sides, CraftSquare mirrors and, Seibon TT carbon rear lip. A Seibon TT carbon rear spoiler is waiting to get installed. To finish the car I needed new wheels. I had been researching a lot of different wheel companies to replace my WORK Meister S1s. I wanted a custom offset and I wanted the best in the industry. So I made contact with Tony at Deviate Motoring. I knew I didn’t want a three piece wheel again and that a mono block was my only route. I place an order for 19" HRE P43SC wheels wrapped with Toyo R888 R-compound tires. To finish off the black/carbon fiber theme HRE Custom carbon fiber center caps were added. JTran Studios Mustang dyno showed 446whp, 446wtq @ 16psi on 93 pumps gas. This should relate to the 500 range on a DynoJet dyno. Plenty of room to grow at 19-20psi! PowerFab Dyno show 551whp, 559wtq @ 16psi (18psi peak) on 93 pump gas. http://youtu.be/KUCJW6UfWLw Gearhead Flicks YouTube Video: http://youtu.be/19KX6-N45tE Factory Options:3.5L V6, 6sp, Heated Leather Seats, LSD, TCS/VDC, all pwr options. Infiniti moves to trademark Eau Rouge
Sun, 24 Aug 2014With Formula One taking to Belgium and the famous Spa-Francorchamps circuit this weekend - boasting a reputation as one of the most beautiful courses on the calendar - all eyes will likely be on the tricky Eau Rouge corner, which challenges drivers' high-speed car control over a rolling, tree-lined hill. Infiniti played on the turn's iconic legacy for its ruby red Q50 Eau Rouge concept, and now the brand hopes to trademark the famous racing name so it can keep using it for a potential production version.
In January, the company filed for a trademark on Eau Rouge for "Automobiles and their structural parts; Fuel cell automobiles and their structural parts; Concept cars" with the US Patent and Trademark Office. According to Bloomberg, the application is still under consideration and not yet a guarantee. It's possible that the track could attempt to block the automaker from earning rights to the name. Alternatively, a trademark lawyer tells Bloomberg that the two of them could also strike a deal where Infiniti would pay a small amount for each car sold bearing the title, which could give Spa a bit of extra money in the bank.
Regardless of the name, a vehicle like the Eau Rouge is something enthusiasts have been wanting for years. It combines a modified, 560-horsepower version of the engine from the Nissan GT-R into a four-door sedan covered in aggressive, carbon fiber aerodynamic parts.

Nissan returning to top-level US racing with this TUDOR entry
Fri, 03 Jan 2014Muscle Milk Pickett Racing, formerly powered by Honda to two consecutive American Le Mans Series championships, is now officially powered by Nissan. The Japanese automaker's return to the top tier of US sports car racing comes with Nismo factory backing of the Muscle Milk entry in the newly created TUDOR United SportsCar Championship. Those with long memories will recall that Nissan walked away from America's then top-flight sports car series, IMSA, more than 20 years ago, having won 33 races, three manufacturer titles and four driver's titles from 1988 to 1991.
The ORECA 3 racecar's reveal also marks the introduction of Nismo Global Exchange drivers to the team. Alex Brundle, who drove for Nissan-powered OAK Racing last year in the FIA World Endurance Championship, will join Lucas Luhr and Klaus Graf at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. It's his first time in a major US event, but having finished second in the WEC and in the LMP2 class at Le Mans last year, he's no novice. Nismo drivers will also contest the 12 Hours of Sebring and Petit Le Mans.
The No. 6 Muscle Milk entry will be hitting the track with the other competitors this weekend during the "Roar before the Rolex 24," with the race itself happening on January 25-26. You can read more about what's coming in the press release below.
