1998 Mercury Sable Blue/Green. Runs great. Never had any issues with it. Normal wear and tear. Will accept best offers.

CONS:

1. There is a 2 inch horizontal tear in the back seat. It doesn't look bad or infringe on comfortable seating at all.

2. There is a crack in the wind shield but it does not cause any blocking of sight.

3. The interior dome light needs a new fuse replacement.

4. The only mechanical issues we ever had was with rusted brake lines and we have replaced them all with new brake lines on 4/25/2013.

PROS:

1. This car is still under 100,000 miles so it runs great.

2. Just replaced the entire brake line with new brake lines on 4/25/2013, new rotors, new brake pads, new boots. Mechanic said on 5/25/2013 that the vehicle is in fantastic mechanical shape and will run for years without issue.

3. Carpet cleaned inside.

4. Interior leather still looks clean and in good condition.

5. Smoke Free

6. Original owners were older and didn't drive this vehicle much. That is why it is a 98 and still under 100,000 miles.

NHTSA closes rollaway investigation into 1.56M Ford SUVs

It's taken four years of study, but the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has finally closed the books on its investigation into rollaway accusations surrounding 1.56-million Ford SUV models.
The probe, which centered on the 2002-2005 Ford Explorer, 2002-2005 Mercury Mountaineer and 2003-2005 Lincoln Aviator, ends without the federal agency calling for a recall. According to The Detroit News, the investigation was closed due to a "low number of complaints" - NHTSA documented 180 such complaints that resulted in 14 crashes and six minor injuries, but the number of incidents have been slowing. The suspected defect rate for the trucks' automatic transmissions was found to be 4.4 per 100,000 units, and the brake-shift interlock mechanism failure rate was judged to be even lower at 3.4 per 100k.

Petrolicious shows Mercedes 280SL as architecture in motion

While still an absolute beauty today, the design of the pagoda-roof W113 Mercedes-Benz SL was revolutionary when it debuted. Moving away from the soft curves of the previous SL models, the all-new generation brought an upright, angular shape that was as much architectural as automotive. In the latest video from Petrolicious, owner and architect Daniel Monti expounds on the inspiration that he gets from his 1969 280SL's fantastic styling. The roof is the most famous design feature of this generation of SL. Look at the top from the front or back, and you can see a gentle, downward arc that evokes the look of a pagoda. That one styling element is also a fabulous counterpoint to a vehicle that is largely more angular than curvaceous. Petrolicious wonderfully illustrates how some of the SL's form-follows-function design aesthetic can be found in the architect's work in this video's heaping helping of mid-century modern goodness.

Ford has announced five separate recalls, affecting 202,000 vehicles built between 2005 and 2014.
It's not been a great couple of weeks for Ford. On October 30, the company announced a 205,000-unit recall, and yesterday, it was revealed that the Ford brand's year-over-year sales were down over 5,000 units while the company itself was down 3,000 units over through October. Now, the company has announced five separate recalls affecting 202,000 vehicles built between 2005 and 2014.
