This 2000 Miata SE is in Very Good Condition. The Paint is a 7 or better, interior is a 7.5 or better and mechanically it is an 8 or better. The car has never been wrecked or abused and has been adult driven. There are the usual small stone dings on the front and the spoiler has been over some high curbs and scraped some. the paint is all original with no touch up or repaint. The interior is Tan Leather and has no rips or tears, there is normal wear on the drivers seat bolster. The top is original and has no holes or tears. Everthing on the car works as is should. I just put 4 new tires on this car and had the brakes completely done including rotors. Total cost or this recent work (in the last 60 days) was $1700.00. I also installed a new Battery. This is a great little car and I would not be afraid to drive it anywhere. The 57 corvette look is vinyl tape and could be easily removed with a hair dryer if you do not like it, and the Grill bars are very easy to remove. This car gets positive comments everywhere and lots of people not real familiar with a real 57 corvette, mistake it for a corvette. I kinda get tired of saying "It is not a corvette, it's a Miata" Great Car. I bought it thinking I could still drive a small low to the ground car, but I was WRONG (I just turned 70) The car comes with a car cover and convertible boot cover. If you have the winning bid, you will be expected to make a $500.00 Paypal deposit immediately after the auction, and Pick the car up in Satsuma, Florida with 7 days of auction end with cash or cashier's check. If you have any questions please ask before bidding.

Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Mercedes also under diesel emissions scrutiny
Sat, Oct 10 2015The controversy over Volkswagen's diesel emissions scandal isn't limited to the US. In Europe, where diesel engines are far more popular, the issue is shining a harsh light on the NEDC emissions test. As already known, the evaluation does a poor job of reflecting real-world production of NOx, and it appears a significant number of automakers are affected. The Guardian in the UK has been reporting on real-world test results from a company called Emissions Analytics. After the latest round of checks, vehicles from Mercedes-Benz, Honda, Mazda and Mitsubishi were found to generate far more NOx than they should. The newspaper also published similar results for Renault, Nissan, Hyundai, Fiat, Volvo, Jeep, Citroen, VW, and Audi. On average, the figures are about four times over the limit of producing the pollutant. Unlike VW and its defeat device, these automakers aren't actually breaking the rules. The vehicles perform up to the NEDC lab test for emissions, but those results simply aren't translated to the street. "The VW issue in the US was purely the trigger which threw light on a slightly different problem in the EU - widespread legal over-emissions," Nick Molden from Emissions Analytics said to The Guardian. A big fight to decide the future of this issue appears to be on the horizon. Automakers claim that they can't meet the next round of tightening emissions regulations and are asking for compromises. Although, spokespeople for Mercedes and Honda told The Guardian that the brands would be in favor of the stricter rules. Meanwhile, some European governments began backtracking their support of diesels well before this scandal came to light. The added scrutiny certain hasn't helped the future of the oil-burner. Consumer Reports digs Mazda3, disses Jeep Cherokee
Tue, 11 Feb 2014Consumer Reports has just rendered its verdict on two of the more important cars to launch this year - the Mazda3 and the Jeep Cherokee. Considering the value a "Recommended" rating carries with the public and the viciously competitive markets these two cars compete in, Consumer Reports' view could have some impact on their initial success.
For Mazda, that's a good thing. CR spoke quite highly of the Zoom-Zoom brand's compact sedan and hatch, testing both models, and citing the excellent fuel economy and snickety-snack manual shifter as high points. Downsides to the 3 included a ride that is agile but "nervous," a bit too much noise and a cramped back seat. Still, the 3 was good enough to earn its place in the ranks of the "Recommended."
The Jeep didn't fare quite so well, with CR calling the polarizing CUV "half-baked." Although both engines were tested, the magazine called the 2.4-liter four-pot underpowered and its nine-speed automatic unrefined and unresponsive. That's particularly damning, considering the 9AT's role in future Chrysler products, including the extremely important 200. Overall, the Cherokee missed out on the coveted "Recommended" rating.
Mazda's awesome Hiroshima museum now navigable by Google Maps
Fri, 15 Mar 2013Visiting an auto museum is one of the best ways we know to connect with car culture and to commune with the past and bone up on one's knowledge. Most of us have a decent museum within a few hours drive of where we live, but that doesn't mean it's easy to see the world's great collections - factors like cost, time and mobility can get in the way. Videos are great, but they don't allow us to browse at our own pace or choose what we'd like to focus on. The folks behind Google Maps have a solution - the virtual museum tour, as seen here at Mazda's fantastic museum in Hiroshima, Japan.
The Google Maps tour allows viewers to take a walk through the main exhibition area of the museum, and you can focus on specific classic cars from Mazda, or check out displays featuring new technologies like Skyactiv. To take a quick spin through the museum - or a leisurely stroll at your own pace - scroll down to start your own virtual tour.
