I bought this Jeep because of the low mileage/great condition for its age but I recently aquired a new pickup and have decided to sell the Jeep so it doesnt just sit. The Jeep is a 4X4 and has a 4 speed transmission. As you can see in the pictures, at only 85,xxx original miles, the Jeep is in very good condition. This vehicle has been well maintained with rare low mileage. I was told by the previous owner that the jeep was repainted at one point, but the paint looks good and professionally done. He also blasted and repainted the wheels in the original white color, they are beginning to see some surface rust but not bad and certainly nothing more than light cosmetic. The original spare tire and wheel (full size, not a doughnut) is still in the cover and has never been used. The black plastic door handles and fenders were replaced with new as the old ones were starting to fade. The interior is also very clean. As seen in the pictures, the instrument panel looks brand new. This Jeep runs perfectly and the four wheel drive shifts in and out smoothly and with ease. Chrome drip guard and accents are original and still shine with no rust. The track and roof rack system look great and are working fine. Door and window seals are good. Chrysler reports $166M net income for Q1, down $307M vs. 2012
Mon, 29 Apr 2013Preliminary first-quarter results from 2013 have been announced by Chrysler, and the company is reporting a net income of $166 million on revenue of $15.4 billion. Compared to this period last year, net income is down $307 million and revenue has dropped $1 billion.
Chrysler says that its quarter was negatively affected by the costs associated with launching its 2013 Ram Heavy Duty, 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee and preparation for the return of the all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee pictured above. The launches should provide a strong second half of 2013, says the automaker. "We remain on track to achieve our business targets, even as the first-quarter results were affected by an aggressive product launch schedule," said Chrysler Group LLC Chairman and CEO Sergio Marchionne.
On a positive note, the automaker says worldwide vehicle sales are up 8 percent from one year ago, a number pushed by a 12 percent bump in U.S. retail sales. In addition, domestic market share has risen slightly, up to 11.4 percent from 11.2 percent last year. Read more in the official statement below.

AMC is long dead, but for its latest peek in the archives, MotorWeek winds back the clock to somewhat happier times. Take a look at the entire AMC lineup from 1983, including its models from Jeep and Renault. The Jeeps, and to a lesser extent, the AMC Eagle, enjoy a cult following today, but it's amazing how many of these other vehicles are now practically forgotten. Even the big debut in '83 of the Renault Alliance is largely ignored. Although with a ludicrous amount of body roll and a 55-horsepower 1.4-liter engine, it's probably rightly buried.
