1955 Ford Convertible Classic Or Street Rod Hot Rod Antique Show Car 55 Ford on 2040-cars
Stow, Ohio, United States
Finally.......after 29 years of enjoyment, the owner has decided to say goodbye to her pride and joy. Purchased in 1985, the owner and her husband did a complete frame off restoration of this beauty, and she has only put on 12,407 miles since it's completion in 2000. This car was built right twice. Once by old Henry Ford himself, and again by this couple. This is a numbers matching Ford that is completely stock in appearance except it was upgraded to a 12 volt electrical system with Petronix ignition, and a 57 intake manifold with Holly 390 four barrel carburetor was installed. The original intake manifold and carb go with the car if desired. Also, the name painted on the deck lid will be removed without damage to the paint if desired. Power steering and fender skirts were the only options added when originally purchased. The engine is the stock re-built original 272 v8 connected to the Fordomatic transmission. The am radio has an fm converter added. I am assisting the owner in the sale of this great classic, and upon close inspection was not able to notice any area that has any signs of rust or filler. This car is solid and runs and drives perfectly. I did see two extremely minor flaws which include a small ding on one piece of stainless that is barely noticeable, and a tiny pinhole and scrape on a lower corner of the top as shown in one of the pictures. We have priced the car WELL BELOW #2 prices and WAY BELOW #1 prices shown in NADA, Hemmings Price Guide, and the Collector Car Price Guide. It is also priced well below comparable vehicles shown in the Old Car Auction Bible for auction prices realized in 2012 & 2013 that covers 50 national auctions across the country. So here is your chance to make a solid investment where you can already be ahead in the game while enjoying miles & miles of fun as you drive it rather than sitting at your computer watching the stock market. If you have less than 3 positive eBay feedback, you MUST first e-mail your name and phone number for me to call before bidding or your bid may be cancelled. A $500 non-refundable deposit must be received within 48 hours of auction end with balance in full received within 7 calendar days of end of auction. Cash or bank wire transfer gets immediate possession of car and title. If you have any questions or would like to arrange a personal viewing please call Jack at 330/389-0456. I don't use texting, so please call or use eBay mail. I am assisting the owner in this sale and can get answers to most questions you may have. |

Ford dealer loses Super Bowl bet, pays $300K to lucky customers [w/video]
Tue, 11 Feb 2014A Missouri Ford dealership's Super Bowl weekend sale cost it big when the improbable happened. Hutcheson Ford ran a promotion from January 29 to February 1, called the Super Weekend Sale. The gist was, if any customer purchased a vehicle between those dates and either the opening or second-half kickoff of the big game was returned for a touchdown, the dealership would refund the purchase price.
In the dealership's defense, it seemed like a safe bet. According to the mathematicians, there was just a 2.5-percent chance of either half opening with a touchdown return. But that didn't stop Seattle's Percy Harvin from doing his part to ruin Denver's evening, returning the second-half kick for an 87-yard touchdown run. Twelve Hutcheson customers were eligible for refunds thanks to the return, with prices ranging from $10,000 to $55,000, according to Automotive News. The total amount shelled out by the dealership? $300,000.
"At least we're not like that furniture guy that lost $7 million," dealership marketing manager Kathleen Frazier told AN. We think it was a big success." The dealership did take out insurance to cover its losses, meaning the $300K won't come entirely from its pockets.

Nearly every flavor of exotic driveline has been shoved into the ubiquitous Ford at some point or another.
Chuck Schwynoch had been patiently listening to my ramblings on the other end of the phone for a solid half hour. I'm not too big of a man to know when to ask for help, and at this point, I desperately needed some assistance. The truth is, working on a machine like a Fox Body Mustang is as easy as breathing thanks to the wealth of information available on the web. Nearly every flavor of exotic driveline has been shoved into the ubiquitous Ford at some point or another, and odds are the sorry souls behind those builds shared the highs and lows of their torment with the internet community.
Ford GT successor to debut in Detroit and go racing
Thu, Dec 18 2014Anticipation for all of the exciting reveals at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show just a few weeks away is building to a fever pitch, and rumors are mounting that Ford has a big surprise in store in the shape of a future performance halo model. Insider sources speaking to Autoweek claim the next Ford supercar is definitely going to be revealed at the Detroit show in early January. However, the model is not necessarily the next-generation Ford GT in terms of its name or design aesthetic. Instead, one of these people indicates that the new halo model might drop retro styling altogether. If the latest reports are to be believed, Ford's high-performance project goes beyond something to just grab headlines and rocket down the street. According to Autoweek, the automaker is also reportedly employing Chip Ganassi Racing to run a two-car racing effort in the Tudor United SportsCar Championship in 2016. That would allegedly include a trip to the 24 Hours of Le Mans to race on the 50th anniversary of the Ford GT40's win in 1966. The speculation goes that at least the racing version might use a twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 for power. However, the motorsports part of the program may not be announced during the auto show reveal. Rumors about the new halo car from the Blue Oval and its racing intentions have been percolating for months. The company might have considered an LMP2 entry, but speculation popped up later about the production supercar. A more recent report suggested that Ford might show a new Shelby GT350R Mustang, a successor to the F-150 Raptor and next Ford GT in Detroit.
