THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 113,178 AND THIS TRUCK HAD A NEW DIESEL ENGINE PUT IN UNDER WARRANTY BY FORD WHEN IT HAD 63,583 MILES ON IT AND WAS DONE ON 9/20/2011. I WORK AT A SMALL TOWN CHEVY DEALERSHIP IN FAYETTE, ALABAMA AND WE TRADED THIS TRUCK IN ON A BRAND NEW TRUCK. THIS TRUCK HAS NOT BEEN USED AS A WORK TRUCK THE CUSTOMER THAT TRADED IT IN HAS SEVERAL HORSES AND HE AND HIS WIFE PULLED A HORSE TRAILER TO TRAIL RIDES OCCASIONALLY OTHER THAN THAT HE USED THE TRUCK FOR A DAILEY DRIVER. HE HAS AN EDGE PERFORMANCE CHIP CURRENTLY INSTALLED AND STATED IT HELPED TREMENDOUSLY ON FUEL MILAGE. How Ford secretly used customers to test its aluminum F-150 [w/video]
Fri, 30 May 2014Automakers getting clever about disguising development vehicles isn't anything new. Between mules wearing the sheetmetal of other cars and prototypes decked out in as much camouflage as is practical, automakers know how to make it very difficult for the general public to get an exact idea of what kind of vehicle is in development. Ford, though, is rapidly becoming the master.
We knew that the Blue Oval originally tested the durability of the aluminum construction being used for the 2015 F-150 by building an all-aluminum 2014 truck and entering it in the Baja 1000 off-road race. That's no longer a secret. What we didn't know, though, is that the aluminum development dates back to before even that, and that some of the people in question had no idea what it was they were working with.
Ford says this is the first time prototypes have ever been handed over to the public.

PickupTrucks.com's latest test results in a familiar winner [w/video]
Wed, 19 Jun 2013PickupTrucks.com has gone and thrown the latest batch of half-ton pickups into a cage match to see who would come out on top. The site put the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, 2013 Ford F-150, Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan through a battery of tests. Those included 0-60 miles per hour acceleration, 60-0 mph deceleration, fuel economy, a hill climb, and payload and towing. They even threw the rigs on an autocross course to evaluate overall handling. Each truck was given points based on how it scored in each evaluation.
Who came out on top? Somewhat surprisingly, the 2013 Ford F-150 walked away with the gold, though fewer than 50 points separated first and fourth place.
