1952 Ford F1 Pick Up Truck

This truck has been family owned since the 1970's. It had been used mostly as a farm truck, been well take care of and was not used a great deal. It was passed down through the family over the years and was eventually left to the previous owner by his uncle who sadly passed a while back. He then only used it occasionally and over the 3 or so years he owned it he resprayed it satin black and also re-did the bed.

Since I have owned the truck I have taken it to several classic car shows in the Chicago Land area. It always receives a lot of attention and always gets the thumbs up while driving it around.

The following has been installed new
  • distributor cap
  • rotor arm
  • condenser
  • breaker points
  • spark plugs
  • new spark plug wire set
I have set the timing and she starts and runs strong and idles like a sewing machine.

Also new
  • 2 new Cherry Bomb mufflers
  • glass in passenger doors and back window - you may notice the drivers door glass has since cracked (easy fix though)
  • rear lights
  • battery is quite new
  • the bed was re-done early this year
As you can see from the pictures apart from the fantastic satin black spray job it is all pretty much original. The truck was once red and inside the cab it still shows that color. It still has the original Ford Flat head V8 engine and the transmission is the original manual shift three on a tree.
It is also still running the original 6 volt electrics with all the exterior lights, indicators, horn and dash gauges working great. (no dash lights working though)

  • Transmission/clutch shifts good
  • Brakes work good
  • Handbrake works good
  • Runs cool
  • Steering is tight (not sloppy)
  • No oil or water leaks
  • No rips or tears in seats (couple of small holes in door panels)
The tyres are bias ply wide white walls with plenty of tread but do show some age. Also included is a spare wheel with the same size and condition white wall too.

This truck is SOLID and has only surface rust underneath. The previous owner did cut out rust and weld plates in the cab corners and did a nice job so no problems there. The body is straight as an arrow, NO dents, No holes or dings. There is however, a small amount of rust holes, just inside the drivers side cab on the floor near the door and also small holes at the bottom of both doors....these are minor repairs though! (shown in pics)
The drivers side window does not go up and down very well and I think the lift inside the door will need replacing (it does stay closed once up though. The glass in that door is also cracked. Both doors open, shut and lock fine.

Overall this is a nice running and driving clean truck that starts first time and gets A LOT of attention on the road and at shows. It would be an excellent candidate for a full restoration or just drive and enjoy as is.

My garage is full hence the reluctant sale of this fantastic 52 Ford F1.

I can work with your shipper if needed - Inspections welcome.

Ford Australia launches Falcon GT F 351, last of its line [w/video]

Sun, 15 Jun 2014

It's always best to go out with a bang rather than a whimper, and Ford Performance Vehicles is doing just that in Australia with the Falcon GT F 351. It's the most powerful road car the Aussie performance brand has ever made with a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 pumping out 471 horsepower (351 kilowatts) and 420 pound-feet of torque. It's joined by the FPV Pursuit Ute with the same powerplant tuned to 422 hp and 402 lb-ft. Sadly, the last F in this Falcon's name stands for Final.
The GT F 351 is a monumental way to go out, though. It harkens back to the old days of Aussie muscle Fords, and the 351kw output is meant to reference the classic Falcon GT and its 351-cubic-inch V8. In addition to the massive power, the F has the improved suspension from the R-Spec model and Brembo brake calipers.
FPV is building just 500 GT F sedans for Australia and 50 more for New Zealand, plus 120 Pursuit Utes. They feature a blacked-out hood and black stripes over the hood and sides, plus gloss black accents around the headlights, door handles and mirrors.

Automakers donating money, vehicles and supplies to Oklahoma tornado relief effort

Fri, 24 May 2013

Judging by the destruction the Oklahoma City area experienced earlier this week, residents are going to need a lot of help in coming months. Fortunately, a number of automakers - including General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, Volkswagen, Honda and Toyota - have stepped up to donate money, supplies and vehicles to aid in the recovery and rebuilding processes.
Here's a quick rundown of which automakers have pitched in and what each contributed so far:
Ford Motor Company has donating $250,000 and a Transit Connect to the American Red Cross, and it will match all other donations made to the Red Cross (up to $250,000) using a special URL tied to the latter's website (link here). Additionally, its local Oklahoma dealers have thrown in an extra $150,000 for the United Way and the automaker will be offering an extra $500 toward the purchase of a new Ford vehicle.

Verizon buys Telogis in connected vehicle market push

Wed, Jun 22 2016

(Note/disclaimer: We are owned by Verizon, by way of AOL. This gives us no inside track whatsoever when it comes to news.) With a lot of tech companies and automakers staking their claims in the connected car space, now there are signs that others are looking to move in, too. Today, telecoms giant Verizon announced that it is acquiring Telogis, a California-based company that develops cloud-based solutions for mobile workforces, and specifically telematics, compliance and navigation software used by Ford, Volvo, GM and other car companies, as well as Apple and AT&T. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed, although we'll try to find out. Considering that Verizon in 2015 reported full-year revenues of $131.6 billion, the price would have to be very high to be considered "material" and may not be made public for some time, if ever. Telogis in its time as a startup raised a substantial amount of money, just over $126 million in all, including $93 million in 2013, supposedly ahead of an IPO, all from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. Back in 2013 when KPCB made its investment (which was the first from a VC firm in the company), Telogis told TechCrunch it was profitable and forecasting revenues of $100 million annually for the year. It's not clear what size those revenues are now, but if it was on the same growth trajectory as before the funding, sales would be around $150 million annually, with profitability, at the moment. Other investors include some very notable strategics: the investment arm of General Motors, and Fontinalis Partners, which also invests in Lyft and was co-founded by Bill Ford, the executive chairman of the Ford Motor Company. Before the acquisition, Verizon actually had a business in fleet management and telematics; in fact, the two companies competed against each other for business from the trucking and other industries. Verizon Telematics, as the business is called, is active in 40 countries. But in a way, Verizon buying Telogis is a sign that the latter may have proved to be the more superior, and the one with the key customer deals.
