1992 Ferrari 512tr Black On Black on 2040-cars
Mamaroneck, New York, United States
Up for sale is a rare black on black 1992 512TR V12. This car has a Tubi exhaust which has a fantastic muffled sound too it. The interior is in fair shape with the typical bolster wear on the drivers seat. The dash is in nice condition with no cracking. Prior to your biding (and/or the end of the auction), there are two Ferrari dealers in the area that I would be willing to drive the car too for an inspection, or send your mechanic to my local shop and we can put it up on the lift. I have not done a major since I have owned the car but I was told that the previous owner performed one although I have no paperwork. There is no toolkit but you can buy one from Eurospares for about $1,500.00.In 2012 I replaced both fuel pumps as well as upgraded the existing main fuse panel to the Dave Helms version to minimize any chance of electrical failure(s). Dave's company can be found by Googling his name or business, Scuderia Rampante. Dave is the pioneer of electronics in the Ferrari world and many Authorized Ferrari dealers utilize his unique service. Most recently I installed two new trunk struts and a third brake light. I removed the underlip to get it refinished as it had a couple of scratches on it. I will be re-installing on the car shortly. With all this being said, please keep in mind that this car is 20 plus years old and is "AS IS".
I will be taking additional photos of the car now that the weather is a bit nicer. The "Buy It Now" will include shipping within the continental US and I will also purchase the tool kit from Eurospares. I reserve to end this auction early as the car is listed locally. |

Race Recap: Singapore Grand Prix is about a safety car and submission
Mon, 23 Sep 2013The Singapore Formula One Grand Prix is the Monaco GP of the Orient - a weekend known more for its glamour and time-slot than on-track action, with a temporary circuit that punishes every mistake, usually terminally.
Lewis Hamilton in the Mercedes-AMG Petronas got the best of Free Practice 1, opening the curtain on a possible resurgence of Silver Arrows performance. By the time qualifying was done, though, it was his teammate Nico Rosberg who lined up second on the grid, followed by Romain Grosjean with a beautiful performance in the Lotus, Mark Webber in the Infiniti Red Bull, and Hamilton all the way back in fifth. Behind them were Felipe Massa outqualifying Ferrari teammate Fernando Alonso, Jenson Button getting the McLaren into eighth, Daniel Ricciardo with another good Q3 effort to get into ninth, and the shocker of Esteban Gutiérrez getting his Sauber into the top ten for the first time this year.
At the front of the pack was Sebastian Vettel. Again. But he was only ahead of Rosberg by a single tenth of a second...
1962 Ferrari 250 GTO Sells For $38 Million At Auction
Fri, Aug 15 2014A 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO became the most expensive car ever sold during an automotive auction Thursday night when a buyer paid $38 million for the vehicle at a Bonhams event. Only 39 of the racers were ever built, and it is a favorite among collectors. One reportedly sold for $52 million in a private sale. If true, it would be the most expensive car ever purchased. Another Ferrari GTO built for legendary racecar driver Stirling Moss sold for $35 million in 2012. Thursday's sale broke the auction record set at a Goodwood auction last year of a Mercedes W196R that was driven by Juan Manuel Fangio to wins in the 1954 German and Swiss Grand Prix races by $8 million. Pretty good for a car that went to the auction block with no reserve, meaning there was no minimum price set for the sale of the car, though bidding started at $11 million, according to the Los Angeles Times. The Ferrari 250 GTO was the star of the show, but it wasn't the only rare Ferrari on the auction block. Bonhams brought ten of the most collectable Ferraris in the world on stage, including a 1962 250 GT Short-Wheelbase Speciale Aerodinamica that went for $6.875 million, a 1953 250 Mille Miglia Berlinetta driven to racing victory by Phil Hill for $7.26 million and even a 1978 312 T3 Formula One car for $2.31 million. All told, the Ferraris sold for $65.945 million, according to Autoblog.
Ferrari and Apple deepening ties, FF gains Siri integration and standard iPad Minis
Tue, 05 Mar 2013The exciting new LaFerrari wasn't all that Ferrari had to announce today at the Geneva Motor Show. Ferrari chairman Luca Di Montezemolo added that the Italian automaker is looking to expand its relationship with Apple in the realm of in-car entertainment, which follows Apple executive Eddy Cue joining the Ferrari board of directors back in November.
According to Bloomberg, Di Montezemolo stated that the Ferrari FF would now come with iPad Minis as a part of the rear-seat entertainment system and Siri integration will be used with the infotainment system. Beyond the FF, though, it isn't clear what type of partnership will blossom between the two most powerful brands on the planet.
