2000 Chrysler Cirrus Lxi 4 Door Luxury Sedan Model Fully Loaded on 2040-cars
Fort Wayne, Indiana, United States
Up for bid is a 2000 Chrysler Cirrus LXI Luxury Edition Model. This is the fully loaded Luxury Edition Model with wood grain trim inside the vehicle, chrome factory rims, power leather seats, power windows, power mirrors, power door locks, automatic headlights that shutoff and cruise control. The car also comes with a Kenwood CD player that works. The car runs and drives good as is, I currently use it as a daily driver around town. It has a new thermostat, new gasket a new air filter and a fresh new oil change. The tread on the tires is decent. The car however does need the following repairs: Speedometer pigtail cable, Transmission control module, rear passenger side brake caliper, rotor and brake pad and the valve cover gaskets to be changed. It also has a small leak in the radiator. The most major concern is the transmission control module because the car is stuck in first gear and will not shift out of first to second or third.
One of the the caps to the chrome rims is missing on the passengers side front wheel (pictured). The drivers side read door does not open for some reason I don't know what it is. All the swithch in the car work. All the windows roll up and down, and all the doors lock and unlock like they should. The cost of the speedometer pig tail cable is $42.00 at autozone and the Transmission control module is $217.00. The rear brake pad is $20.00 and the rotor is $23.00, the caliper is $43.00 with a $20.00 core charge, and last but not least is the raidator which is $88.00. The drivers side seat does have a small tear in it. The car also has some rust, and rust spots on it (pictured). The car is a gas saver, it's excellent on gas $25.00 puts it on a full tank!!! This car would be an easy fix to somebody mechanically inclined. With a little work and some tender loving care this will make a nice sporty fuel efficient vehicle for someone. E-mail me with any questions THANKS AND HAPPY BIDDING!!! |

Junkyard Gem: 1990 Plymouth Laser RS Turbo
Mon, Jul 3 2017When Diamond Star Motors, a Chrysler-Mitsubishi joint venture, came online in the late 1980s, the first products to come out of the Normal, Illinois assembly plant were versions of the first-generation of the Mitsubishi Eclipse. There was the Eclipse itself, the Eagle Talon, and the Plymouth Laser. Here's a somewhat tattered example of the latter type, spotted in a Northern California self-serve yard. This car is unrelated to the Chrysler Laser of a few years earlier, which was based on the K-platform-derived Dodge Daytona. The Plymouth Laser was a pure Mitsubishi design. This one has the DOHC turbocharged 2.0-liter Sirius engine, rated at 190 horsepower. That was plenty of power by 1990 standards, a year in which the wildest possible Chevrolet Camaro (the IROC-Z, of course) packed just 230 hp under the hood. The IROC-Z weighed 3,149 pounds versus the Laser's 2,483, giving the Laser a slightly better power-to-weight ratio, not to mention a price tag more than $500 lower. CD players in cars were still uncommon in 1990; this Laser has the much more mainstream "computer controlled deck" cassette player, complete with nine-band graphic equalizer. Badging in futuristic typefaces was all the rage when this car was new. The all-wheel-drive Eclipse/Talon/Laser didn't hit dealerships until the 1991 model year, so all the '90s are front-wheel-drive only. The torque steer experienced in these cars could be exciting. Chrysler and Google launch virtual 200 factory tour [w/video]
Tue, 23 Sep 2014Google is no stranger to showing off some of the most interesting automotive destinations in the world, like the museums for Lamborghini and Ducati, or even a Tesla showroom. However, it's taking that technology even further with a new, in-depth look of the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant where the Chrysler 200 is made. Unlike these earlier online excursions, the new Chrysler factory tour is a fully guided experience that includes several 360-degree videos explaining many parts of the production process.
"Just as we pioneered a completely new Chrysler 200, we are pioneering a new way for consumers to research a vehicle. The Factory Tour is an opportunity for us to prove to consumers that the all-new 2015 Chrysler 200 is not one ever built before," said Olivier Francois, Chrysler's chief marketing officer, in the company's release.
Chrysler was already pretty proud of its nearly $1 billion in recent updates to the Sterling Heights factory having released a look at the 200's assembly process earlier this year. However, the new Google tour goes far deeper by including 12 videos, and between highlighted stops, viewers can swing the camera all over to get a full view of the action. The whole thing is an intriguing way to show the way a modern car gets built.
Chrysler withdraws from UK market
Tue, Mar 17 2015Ford factors big in the British market, as does GM's Vauxhall brand. But one automaker that will be missing from the UK from here on out will be Chrysler, as the latest reports coming in from the British Isles indicate that the American brand is closing up shop. For the past few years, Chrysler has been selling a combination of its own models as well as rebadged Lancias to British customers, but has been having a tough time making a go of it. After just a few short years of lackluster sales, Chrysler UK ceased selling the Delta, and according to Auto Express, is now withdrawing the 300C and Grand Voyager as well. That leaves just the Ypsilon, which will reportedly continue on an on-demand basis if customers ask for it, but even that will end by 2017. The withdrawal of the Chrysler brand from the British market mirrors that of Lancia, under whose name the same models are sold in continental Europe but which is now being confined strictly to Italy, where it will similarly continue to sell the Ypsilon. Of course that doesn't mean that FCA is withdrawing from the British market altogether. The Fiat, Abarth, Alfa Romeo and Jeep brands will continue being offered in the UK, as will Maserati and Ferrari. Just don't expect to see many wing-badged Chryslers on the high street anymore – not that you would have until now. Last year the Chrysler brand reportedly sold fewer than 2,000 units in the UK, compared to the 10,000+ examples of just the Fiat 500 it moves there every month.
