Selling my 1984 Chevy K30 crew cab 4x4.

I've owned it for about 7-8 years. I put a vortec 5.7 out of a 99 Suburban, the Suburban had 40,000 miles on it that was 7 years ago. I've put about 20,000 on the truck since then. At the time I had the Th 400 trans rebuilt with a mild shift kit. So Engine has about 60k and trans has about 20k. Truck has 4:11 gears with 35" Bf Goodrich A/T's (at least85% tread left) 6" lift kit.
Truck road great down the highway, but with the low gearing I wanted to lower the rpm's a little, so last year I put in the Gear Vendor Overdrive. Wow! what a difference, I almost want to take it out and keep it for my next project, love it. Before I was at about 2800 rpm's @ 70mph, Now about 2100rpm. Truck has no problem doing 90mph with that long wheel base it makes an excellent towing vehicle. The truck was completely painted the color you see it now 7yrs ago. It was originally tan, the inside is still the tan color. The outside is now 1969 Ford Mustang sage Green with some gold Flake in it. Love the color and gets lots of compliments. However it's starting to show its age and needs some TLC. Truck is SOLID!, what it needs is: driver's side floor board, passenger rocker panel, passenger rear wheel well, small dent above rear sliding window. Inside the truck has original rear bench, and in the front it has a nice Chevy Mark III leather bucket/bench out of 99 Suburban. I would think about putting a tilt steering column in as the new seat is higher than stock and I could use more room between my legs and the steering wheel. Bed is Solid, no dents and completely Rhino lined. I have collected many parts over the years for this truck, which will go with it: hard to find real wood dash overlay and dashpad insert, wood overhead console!, power window and lock regulators with wiring harness. Original Warn winch front bumper that is Rhino lined also. These are impossible to find!
Some of the pics show some bucket seats in the bed, they are not mounted in there, nor come with the truck. I was just bringing them home for another project.
The frame is solid, could use a new coat of paint or undercoating. This is a No Reserve Auction....Good Luck and feel free to contact me with questions.
YES, you can drive this home No Problem!
Oh, yeah 1 down side is only 1 fuel tank and it's not that big 16 gal. I was thinking about adding a second, but never did.

Air conditioning and heat work fine. also have a new Halogen headlight kit with relays and wiring complete for this truck that goes with it!
Trifecta bed cover is also included!

2015 Chevrolet Trax

Thu, Dec 4 2014

After the obligatory product presentation for the 2015 Trax, I caught up with Steve Majoros, Chevrolet's director of marketing for crossovers and cars, and asked him to elaborate on which markets his planners believe will be the hot starters for this tiny CUV. Without much hesitation, Majoros began to click off traditional sales havens for Subaru, namely, New England and the snowy bits of the East Coast, Colorado and the Pacific Northwest. That news might not surprise you, but it did me. Perhaps it's something as basic as the Trax's tall-hatchback looks, or the emphasis Chevrolet put on the urban driving cycle during my test in San Diego. But before my chat with Majoros, I'd considered this a crossover pointed at the Millennial city mouse more than his bumpkin cousin. But a closer look had me re-examining the granola cred of Chevy's smallest crossover. Having spent my fair share of time in New England and around New Englanders, I started by mentally listing the Trax's Subaru-like traits: practicality, thrift, all-weather ability and, well, just a dash of ugliness. (I suppose a hatchback needn't always be ugly to sell in Maine, or Boulder or Portland... but a 'distinctive' face doesn't seem to hurt.) After a day of driving through sunny San Diego and its surroundings, I can say that Trax makes an interesting case for itself against the standard bearers of the L.L. Bean set, but I'm less sure of its argument for young urbanites. The Trax looks a lot like an Equinox whose suit shrunk in the wash. Chevy's has downsized its own, rather conservative crossover styling to fit the proportions of the subcompact Trax; to my eyes, it looks a lot like an Equinox whose suit shrunk in the wash. That's fine for offering a cohesive look for the Chevy family of crossovers, but it seems out of step with the rest of the segment. If the Trax's current competitive set were the cast of a high school-based TV show, the Kia Soul would play the lovable nerd, the Nissan Juke perhaps the outsider musician and the Subaru XV Crosstrek the athletic outdoorsy kid. Chevy may see the Trax as the hipster chick wearing intentionally ironic mom jeans, but to me the styling is a little too on the nose; more like an actual grownup trying to hang with the kids. These mom jeans are genuine. Per my earlier point, that quasi-conservative look may be just fast enough for staid New Englanders, but I have a hard time seeing the bluff, big-Bowtied front end playing in Bushwick or Wicker Park.

Frustrated GM investors ask what more Mary Barra can do

Mon, Oct 22 2018

DETROIT — General Motors Co Chief Executive Mary Barra has transformed the No. 1 U.S. automaker in her almost five years in charge, but that is still not enough to satisfy investors. Ahead of third-quarter results due on Oct. 31, GM shares are trading about 6 percent below the $33 per share price at which they launched in 2010 in a post-bankruptcy initial public offering. The Detroit carmaker's stock is down 22 percent since Barra took over in January 2014. After hitting an all-time high of $46.48 on Oct. 24, 2017, the shares have declined 33 percent. In the same period, the Standard & Poor's 500 index has climbed 7.8 percent. Several shareholders contacted by Reuters said GM could face a third major action by activist shareholders in less than four years if the share price does not improve. "I've been expecting it," said John Levin, chairman of Levin Capital Strategies. "It just seems a tempting morsel to somebody." Levin's firm owns more than seven million GM shares. Barra has guided the company through the settlement of a federal criminal probe of a mishandled safety recall, sold off money-losing European operations, and returned $25 billion to shareholders through dividends and stock buybacks from 2012 through 2017. GM declined to comment for this story, but the company's executives privately express frustration with the market's reluctance to see it as anything more than a manufacturer tied mainly to auto market sales cycles. GM's profitable North American truck and SUV business and its money-making China operations are valued at just $14 billion, excluding the value of GM's stake in its $14.6 billion Cruise automated vehicle business and its cash reserves from its $44 billion market capitalization. The recent slump in the Chinese market, GM's largest, and plateauing U.S. demand are ratcheting up the pressure. GM is one of the few global automakers without a founding family or a government to serve as a bulwark against corporate raiders. In 2015, a group led by investor Harry Wilson pressed GM to launch a $5 billion share buyback, and commit to what is now an $18 billion ceiling on the level of cash the company would hold. In 2017, GM fended off a call by hedge fund manager David Einhorn to split its common stock shares into two classes. Einhorn, whose firm still owned more than 21 million shares at the end of June, declined to comment about GM's stock price. Other investors said there were no clear alternatives to Barra's approach.

First 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray spotted crashed in the wild

Tue, 12 Feb 2013

This restyled blue 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is wearing manufacturer plates, and it appears to be the same one seen around the internet in various pictures lately. This crash is likely not part of the Chevrolet testing regimen, however. Digital Corvettes forum member gpetry posted the shot with a note: "got this picture e-mailed from a friend in Arizona last week..." No circumstances are given, other than the incident occurred in the thick of a set of curvy roads, and the coupe ping-ponged off a guardrail and into the rock wall. Hopefully everyone involved in the incident walked away.
It may not be a pretty thing to see, a crashed sports car that's not even available for sale yet, but rest easy. Many pre-production cars are used for development and then unceremoniously crushed and scrapped, anyway. If that's the case here, that makes this wrecked 'Vette less of a tragedy and more of a case of exceptional efficiency.
