Thank you for checking out my classic car, the Buick Limited Edition! I purchased this vehicle new nearly 35 years ago and have driven it on occasion since. It is garage-stored and pampered. The complete repair record is available, although the car has been basically problem-free over the years. It has a clean, well maintained interior and has also been entirely smoke-free.
Seats are crushed velour upholstery. The passenger seat (which reclines) and rear seats have been seldom used so both have like-new upholstery. No rips, stains, or holes.
The car was undercoated with frequent touch-up applications for minimal surface rust, although there is rear frame rust. Doors and trunk lid have some small paint chips. The lower trim behind the front tires has some small dents from the mechanic's hoist. There is a passenger-side windshield crack. Dash is in great shape, no cracks or rips. The hood has lost its pneumatic lift. The car has a spare tire and jack. It hasn't been driven since the brakes went out last year. It has one mismatched hubcap, a loose tailpipe, a small hole in the trunk's tire well the size of a half-dollar, and broken plastic edging on the seat belt clip. It also needs a taillight cover, re-tacking of the ceiling upholstery, and perhaps front springs. One tire is showing wear. Front shocks were installed new prior to storage and I have a replacement bumper for the rear ready to go.
The car has been stored the past 1 1/2 years. Prior to that it ran and performed well on the road with a great engine by GM, said to be perhaps the best they ever built. The interior and exterior are both in excellent condition, especially considering the vehicle's age. It would make a classic parade and show vehicle, or it has many top-notch items as a parts car.
I am happy to answer any and all questions. If you would like more pictures, I can email them to you. I look forward to talking with you.

Junkyard Gem: 1992 Buick Century Woodie station wagon
Mon, Oct 9 2017The Detroit station wagon with fake-wood exterior paneling had a good long postwar run, but minivans and — increasingly — sport utility vehicles were giving such wagons quite a beating in the showrooms by 1992. Buick was down to just two woodies by 1992; here's a discarded example of the front-wheel-drive Century, spotted in a Northern California self-service yard. Buick sold big rear-wheel-drive Roadmaster wagons with Simu-Wood™ siding through the 1996 model year, but the smaller Century was fairly plush. American car shoppers didn't insist on real-looking "wood" on their wagons, although Chrysler went much more three-dimensional with their plastic wood that did GM during this era. This one has the 3.3-liter Buick V6 engine, rated at 160 horsepower. This is not to be confused with the unrelated GM 60° V6, which was available in earlier and later Centuries. If only these seats could talk, they'd tell many tales of sibling battles and spilled fast food. Related Video:
Question of the Day: Coolest factory-supercharged car?
Thu, Apr 28 2016Last week, we discussed possible engine-swap recipients for the plentiful-in-every-junkyard Eaton-supercharged GM 3800 V6 engine. The Buicks, Oldsmobiles, and Pontiacs that came with that engine from the factory were reasonably cool, of course, but when you look at all the production cars that have been available with supercharging over the decades you can find some pretty amazing stuff. My personal favorite has to be the Paxton-blown Studebaker Larks of the early 1960s, partly because the Lark was just about the stodgiest-looking, sleepiest little sedan available in America, possibly the most ridiculous recipient of a howling force-fed V8 imaginable, and partly because of the name of the optional supercharged 289-cubic-inch V8 you could get in the Lark: Jet-Thrust! What do you say is the coolest factory-supercharged car of all time? Related Video: Auto News Buick Automotive History Performance Classics supercharger questions
Buick Cascada convertible likely dead after 2019
Tue, Oct 9 2018Opel announced it was discontinuing a few cars today, but the one that got our attention was the Cascada. The plan is to let the Opel Cascada live out its life until the end of 2019, with no replacement in the works. This brings into question the future of the Buick Cascada sold in the United States, since it's basically the same car and produced by Opel in the same factory in Poland. The Cascada has been on sale in other markets since 2012 badged as either an Opel or Vauxhall, but the Buick-badged car was only introduced in North America for the 2016 model year. Of course, Buick could decide to build the model beyond 2019, but it would need to find a new manufacturing location, convertibles aren't exactly popular, and the car would be egregiously old at that point. In other words, it looks like the Cascada is dead after 2019. We asked Buick what the game plan might be, and were told that there is nothing official to say at the moment. That's par for the course for something a manufacturer doesn't want to talk about yet, but it's also possible the announcement came as a surprise. Opel is no longer owned by GM, so the announcement actually came from the brand's new PSA ownership (the same French company that owns Peugeot and Citroen). As for the rationale behind the decision, that was a head scratcher, too. Opel/PSA said it was discontinuing the Cascada, as well as the subcompact Adam and Karl, in order to meet increasingly stringent emissions requirements and produce crossovers instead. This seems contradictory. Replacing a low-selling convertible and a pair of low-profit subcompacts with high-selling, high-profit crossovers sure seems like a solid business decision more than an emissions requirement one. Indeed, the Buick Cascada has never been a raging success in the United States either, with only 5,595 leaving the lots in 2017. It helped bring in some different kinds of customers to the Buick brand, but the impact is minute compared to a vehicle like the hot-selling Buick Encore.
