Finished in its factory Carbon Metallic color, the body has been tastefully upgraded with a lightweight carbon fiber hood with four louvered vents, adding an even more aggressive look to the car. Although there is a stress crack in the paint of this hood, the original BMW hood comes along with the car and can easily be returned to original if desired.

Under that racing-inspired hood lies the factory 3.2L inline six mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Performance has been upgraded with an Active Autowerke Supercharger and Methanol Injection System. Exhaust gases are handled through a deep-toned Supersprint dual exhaust system.

Performance springs and suspension give the M3 an aggressive stance, while Dinan brushed aluminum tower braces with carbon fiber inserts stabilize both front struts and rear shocks. Dronnell 19 inch seven spoke brushed aluminum wheels accentuate the M3's performance attitude and are wrapped with Toyo Proxes T1R tires to maximize the already phenomenal grip.

Inside the M3, a luxurious but business-like interior accommodates the most discerning driver. Heated leather performance seats and Harmon Kardon audio provide the comfort, performance and luxury one would expect from this premium sports sedan, while custom billet shifter and other accessories remind the driver of its more sporting nature.

2014 BMW 6 Series gets Frozen Brilliant White convertible, manual option for M6

BMW has announced updates to the 6 Series lineup today, including a special "Frozen" edition of the convertible, and a 640i Gran Coupe in all-wheel-drive trim.
The 2014 BMW 6 Series Convertible Frozen Brilliant White Edition (catchy name, right?) will be available from select BMW dealers this May, and will offer buyers the signature paint, Frozen Black mirror caps, a black grille and uniquely designed, 20-inch M Performance wheels. Just 100 examples of the FBWE 6er will be produced, with both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive cars in the mix, for starting prices of $106,995 and $110,095, respectively (both prices include $895 in destination and handling charges).
BMW has also informed us that all of its 6 Series Gran Coupe models will now be available with the company's xDrive all-wheel-drive system. No pricing has been given for the xDrive versions of the car as of yet.

BMW profit of $2.7B is down as automaker invests to keep luxury lead

Despite selling 6.6-percent more vehicles - a record by volume - and posting higher revenues in the second quarter of 2013, BMW Group's profit of 2.07 million euros ($2.75 billion) is down 8.8 percent from last year. Investments in new technology (e.g. the new i3) and personnel, in addition to a competitive market, are to blame, BMW states. But the automaker remains committed to its fiscal targets for 2013, which, Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG, Norbert Reithofer, says will be "on a similar scale to 2012."
The BMW brand's sales performance in the first half of the year, which increased by 7.7 percent to 804,258 vehicles delivered, was good enough for it to maintain its lead in the luxury market, narrowly beating Audi, which delivered 780,510 vehicles, Automotive News reports. Mercedes-Benz delivered 694,433 vehicles to cement third place.

BMW predicts US will be biggest i8 market

BMW will be showing a production version of its new i8 plug-in hybrid supercar at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show, and while we're quite excited about seeing the company's second i product in the flesh. According to a new report from Automotive News Europe, BMW is expecting its largest markets to be the United States, United Kingdom and Germany. Notable for its absence in that list is everybody's favorite mega-market, China.
Automobilwoche, a German-language publication of Automotive News Europe, spoke with the i8's product manager, Hendrik Wenders, who declared, "The US will be by far the largest sales market for the i8." Wenders stops short of actual mentioning what percentage of i8 sales will be in the US, but does mention that it should arrive in showrooms around the world in about nine months. The simultaneous rollout will occur in 50 different countries.
